What do you miss??

I was JUST thinking about this TODAY!

I miss...
  • the way the air smells so fresh in the morning
  • the background music everywhere you go
  • basking in the glow of the day's memories
  • being freshly showered and gathering on the balcony in our jammies for one last good night to the animals on the savanna at AKV, or to Spaceship Earth at BCV, or DTD at SSR, or the golf course at OKW, or the woods at VWL. I love the balconies.

Miss the food:laughing:

But overall, just miss the feel of being there and feeling like reality no longer exsists.

I like this thread....

I miss the feeling I get when I walk into the lobby entrance of whatever resort we are calling home. My heart skips a few beats when I hear the background music and take in all the sights, sounds, and smells. I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since we purchased!

:goodvibes

I miss walking over to EPCOT in the evening and people watching. With a margarita in hand of course!

The look on DD's face everytime she meets a character

The smell of WL

The fact that I can eat anything (hey, I'm on vacation! It's all 0 calories... :rotfl: ) and not feel guilty until I get home.

Le Cellier's Mushroom Risotto and Pretzel bread

I miss MK Popcorn, right there at the entrance, the smell, that salty, buttery goodness, that can't be duplicated!

I miss the smell as I enter the OKW 2br Villa!

I miss the guard saying, "Welcome Home", corny but I miss it!

I miss Olivia's potatoes and that Cabernet Sauce (I'd lick my plate if I thought my Mom wouldn't come down from heaven and thunk me on the head for doing it!

I think I love the whole Disney experience more than son does!

I love the feel of being away from reality. :goodvibes

I miss sitting on my AKV balcony with a cup of coffee in the morning.

Sunset boatrides from SSR to DTD. I love the ride to DTD and then the ride back with SSR all lit up. Not to mention the walks/people watchinig at DTD in between.

I can't believe no one said Mickey head ice cream bars!!!!!!! I know you can find similar products in some stores, but they're never as good as the real things are at the World...

I miss being able to ride in the monorail with the driver.
The view of seeing where you are going was spectacular. It was our kids favorite thing to ask if the front was available. I hope that someday they allow passangers to ride up there again. :cool2:

Ok after reading this thread and realizing most post were made while I was sitting on my balacony over looking Bay Lake back in Feb, I miss it even more!

I love the memories we make everytime we go, and sharing the experience with others!

Good question as I sit here exhausted from my work day...I miss being "Disney" tired. Sitting on the balcony looking at DTD and just sighing.

I miss sitting on my balcony at Kidani watching the sunrise over Jambo house. A cup of coffee in hand and my DD12 sitting next to me. Animals on the savanna and waiting for the sun to be on my face.:thumbsup2

I miss sitting on the beach and watching (and hearing) the boats come and go!
And I miss all of the flowers and sunshine! It is cold and dreary in PA today!

Any time I'm preparing for a big upcoming trip to Disney, I occasionally start to question "Should we be spending this money on [another] Disney trip or should we do something else/different?"

This thread has helped remind just how powerful the "feeling" of simply being at Disney is. When trying to answer this question, that's actually one of the top things that comes to mind...and many of the "I miss this...." memories that come to mind are based more on a feeling of simply being at Disney.

I miss the west side of World Showcase during the afternoon when it starts to get shady.

I miss having a pizza and creme brulee at Wolfgang Puck's Express.

I miss how (now that I'm an adult) I continually underestimate the Magic Kingdom and yet every trip I come back thinking, "Wow, nothing beats a day that is spent at the Magic Kingdom"

Honestly and truly... It was the best imagineered, most guest interactive, best attraction Disney ever put together, bar none. Not even close.
Joe Rhode was the imagineer who headed up the project. He is also the guy who did AK (the eccentric guy with the dangly earring).

Just so happens they also served alcohol and it was located in Pleasure Island.
If you haven't experienced it, I wouldn't expect you to understand. There are some here on the DVC boards who know...

Three of the four pics in my sig are paintings from the club.
Kungaloosh!
