What do you miss the most?

What do you miss most from pre-kid days?

  • Nothing...I would change nothing and you're a bad parent for suggesting anyone would

  • SLEEP! I want to sleep for about 27 days straight

  • Time with my spouce/SO....I haven't snuggled in years

  • Money...who knew kids would suck every penny out of your wallet?

  • Going out...I used to PARTY!

  • My friends...they just don't come around any more

  • Talking about adult topics...there are only so many conversations about poo you can have

  • All of the above...how much do you think I'd get for the kids on e-bay anyway?

So....all you mommies and daddies out there...what do you miss the most about your kid free life?

I miss nothing. I feel like there will be a lot I will miss when my kids are grown. Having kids is the best time ever, in my opinion.

Being able to go out on dates with DW whenever we darn well pleased! For the last 10 years we have had to practically beg in order to find suitabel childcare. The result is that our dates have been few and far between.

Oh, and my mind, where did that go??

Yeah...I didn't leave my keys in the door all night before I had kids...I don't think...I don't really remember...

I can't say I miss anything. We find time or make time for everything we want and/or need. I'm gone 60 hours a week so it's all about time management. I do feel like I miss out on too much with them. I miss when he was littler. I only worked 3 days a week then :cloud9:

I have to agree w/the post... My body. I sure wish I had that back. All in time ;)

I wouldn't change a thing, I love all the running around from football to hockey to baseball to swim lessons to Cub Scouts, etc. (and that's just my oldest) It's so fun!!

I still get plenty of time with my friends, hubby and I go on a couple vacations a year, a babysitter is a breeze - my parents live 2 streets away. Heck, sometimes they ask if my kids can come sleep over just for fun even when we don't have plans. :thumbsup2

If it weren't for my children I'd still be at my job. Thank you kids!!:)

ETA - I voted for the first one but only because I don't miss anything - NOT because I think you're a bad parent for suggesting it.

I feel the same way. :goodvibes I was very blessed to have wonderful, easy children who slept through the night from a couple of months. So, I get plenty of sleep. We still travel a lot, etc. I don't feel like they are draining us financially. :confused3

I enjoyed my life pre-kids, but I had no idea how wonderful it would be with them in it. :goodvibes

BTW, I didn't vote. I agreed with the first choice until I got to the part that says that anyone is a bad parent for suggesting it. ;)

Wouldn't trade 'em of course but dang....a vacation for five cost SOOO much more than a quick get away for 2.:scared1: (I voted $$ in case you couldn't figure that out, lol).

We have 3 kids (10,8, & 6) but this weekend we had my sister's 3 kids (10, 4 and 1)....we are Soooooooooooooooooooo glad to be out of the baby phase. Dang, babies are HARD!! How did we do three in less than five years??? I think I was a little bit insane for a couple of years, there.:dance3:

Not much. We had our kids in our 30s for a reason, we wanted to sow our wild oats, have time together as a couple first before being parents, and travel. We did all that and then some. And we'll do it all again when the kids are grown, God willing. :)

A little downtime would be nice every now and then, but otherwise, I wouldn't trade it for anything. :)
