What do you miss at the Fort ?

I miss the good old day’s when people didn’t hate the people with Golf Carts

I guess I did not realize that some people did not like the golf carts. At first, we took our bicycles everywhere (still do sometimes). Then we rented a cart a few times, then we bought one.

The only thing that does get to me is when you see a kid, who is obviously too young, operating one, and driving it like it is a toy and not a vehicle that could hurt someone. I know sometimes some adults do the same thing. In either case I will say something to them.

I don't hate people with carts. I do dislike people who think FW is their personal racetrack for themselves and their unsupervised children. It sucks to have to watch your kids like a hawk for fear of them being run over at any given moment.

As well as the one's who drive along the center line and refuse to move to the right for the buses and cars.

At the whopping 16 mph mine is now capable of, I hardly drive like its Nascar!!! (I was at one time up to a heartstopping 19mph!!! I REALLY need a new set of batteries!!!)

BUT IT LOOKS LIKE ITS DOING A FULL 20mph!!! :)

Man, I was kind of in a bummed mood this evening and now I'm completely despondent...wah! I miss all of this!

We miss the petting zoo. Fond memories of the goats attacking us for food pellets!

I miss the petting zoo also. There is nothing better than a dirty bunny on a nice clean white shirt.

River country............

The pool at River Country. I miss when Crockett's Tavern was a good restaurant and when Trails End was a GREAT restaurant (affordable too). Swimming in the lake. Not having to go to the outpost to catch the Animal Kingdom bus. Definitely miss the peacocks!

Most of all is the lack of foliage. This used to give us a sense of privacy. When it was all cut down back in 2008 it gave us a feeling of being on top of each other. Also miss the peacocks and lower prices. Miss the way they respected the price at the beginning of your stay to the end not like today when they stick you with higher prices on holidays and weekends if they take place during your vacation at the Fort.

Wow, this is getting depressing!!!:earsboy::earsboy::earsboy:

The piano player and the sing alongs at Trails End Restraunt in the evenings plus you could make your own pizza and the help would run it through the ovens.

I also miss Dave and Sam the two guys that played the song for sing along. I also miss Friday nights make your own pizza night. Be leave it or not the Fort had really good pizza at one time not crap they sell today. Chef Boyardee even said this pizza sucks and he knows sucky pizza.

The marshmellow marsh. They were so fun!

I miss and dont flame me I have pets too, no pets in the campground. I liked it better when they had to be at the kennel. Not all pet owners are conscious.

The train and the tram driver who used to sing. Remember when the bus drivers actually used to say the names of the loops at each stop.

I had forgotten about make your own pizza night at the hall.

I wonder why they discontinued the breakfast shows? They always seemed to be full. I remember they had one show called Melvin the Moose and the other was Chip & Dale.

I miss the make your own pizza, and the peacocks.
It would be great to have ice cream at the Fort, also. :)

I miss the bigger selection and better quality of food at TE.
