Thought I would start a thread, since I have not done one yet, on the things that have been done away with over the years at the Fort and you wish they would bring back. Yes, I will accept lower campsite fees as a given along with River Country.

These are two of my wishes.

I used to enjoy the softserve ice cream cones. They originally had three locations at FW, one was a the snack booth by FW landing that operated seasonally, one at the Settlement Trading post that could operate from either going inside or walking up to a window at the North end of the building, and the third was inside the Meadow Trading Post. It was great to get one then sit back & watch the people. There was nothing like eating a cone on a warm day.

I also miss the blue flag bus that ran from the Settlement Depot to the TTC every 6 to 10 minutes. From there it was fun to catch the monorail to Epcot. I liked how the monorail would traverse around Future World, especially at night.

Me ! I really miss me being at the Fort !!

And I think the food wagon would be really cool.

And RC.

And resort specific items.(even tho they are just now stopping that)

I miss naked-golfcarting....ahhhhh...the good ol'days!

I actually DID miss the pumps being functional behind the 300 loop! The first time I actually CAMPED there(not in a cabin) was the first season they stopped using them.....and I heard the bass fishing was CRAZY when that pump was on!!! :(

I also miss the old swamp trail boardwalk.

and Rog, your right bout the pumps and the bass,:thumbsup2

I know it was mostly just farm animals,,but I miss the petting zoo.

I really miss Minnie Moo.

It makes you wonder what 'suit' had the brilliant idea about doing away with resort specific ideas. I know they will lose getting money from me. I would buy all the T-shirts, blankets, cups, etc. with the FW logo or theme.

I miss the horse drown Ice cream wagon that looped in the summer time

I miss the Hammocks to
I really miss buying 6pks of beer for $5.99 at the trading post. NOT the new $3.00 Singles becouse thats all they sell

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the hammocks had many a fun night there with a spring break fling.
I miss going to the beach, the magnetic flags, the ice cream cones, RIVER COUNTRY !!!!!
I love today getting my mug filled in the morn and rocking on the deck.

swamp boardwalk as mentioned, the more private campsites, the days before everyone had golfcarts (I swear the busses were more frequent) and you would hike to the Dock, a rag tag motley crew of bleary eyed adults an hyperactive children slowly swelling into an army of Disney-philes, when no one knew what Fort Wilderness was except hardcore disney lovers, when most people tent camped with no a/c, no tv, no cellphones, maybe a walkman until your batteries ran out two days later, Coleman lanterns and stoves... good days.
