THER ARE NO COFFEE MAKERS IN THE ASMovies ROOMS!!:scared1:

How is it that an OCDVC (Obsessive Compulsive Disney Vacation Planner) is just learning this 9 days before the trip?!?!?!:confused3

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Amy

Ummm..go to the Restaurant and buy a cup?

I guess you could buy a one cup maker if it's that important? Then take coffee from here and get cream there?

:confused3

have you seen any of the BUDGET BOARDS forums for swaps? You can get in on a free or cheap($10per stay) fridge and some of them have a free coffeemaker in it. You pick up the fridge from luggage service and then return it after your last day. Check to see if there is one available at AS resorts for your dates. It is a great deal.

I bought a one cup coffee maker from Walmart for $9.99 - will bring my own coffee from home.

Exactly what I need!! I am off to Walmart!!! $10 bucks I can handle, but I did not want to spend more than that!!:thumbsup2

As for buying a cup - it will not be Tim Hortons :goodvibes And, from what I have read, it is swamp water:eek: We were looking forward to bringing our TH and making our own.

The other alternative for those that don't want to use the coffee maker is to purchase the refillable mug, just a short walk in the morning to fill your mug and then you can grab another one on the way to the bus. (that is what DH and I do, and yet we usually have a room that has a coffee maker in it).

I just put a plastic bag in our backpack for our used mugs, they aren't heavy in the pack so it is easily done.

But you are not drinking coffee but rather some type of swill WDW serves.

We picked up a coffee maker that made 1 or 2 cups right in the travel mugs for our last stay at Pop.

:rotfl2: Actually, I don't find it half bad! But to each his own!

Bought a cheap coffeemaker to bring.

DH and I need our coffee and it cannot be swamp water - LOL!!

Thank you to all!!

Amy

Last week the coffee wasn't swamp water...swamp water would have been an improvement. It was some kind of burnt-tasting sludge that oozed out of a dispenser. With at least double the amount of milk and sugar that I would normally use, I could usually manage to choke it down for a caffeine fix. It wasn't anything more than that, however.

This same sludge (they called it Nescafe, but I have my doubts) can be found everywhere at WDW except for the Kona coffee bar at the Polynesian. They serve a really nice Kona blend, and it's worth the stop there on your way to MK at least once during the trip.

Also, be warned that most of the beverage bars at the resorts have a dispenser labelled "creamer" but it actually contains the coffeemate creamer-like substance, not actual cream. No cows were anywhere near the creation of this substance. :rotfl2:

If you're at all picky about your coffee, take your own.

Don't they use something called half and half?

Sometimes, but not in the dispensers at the value resorts at least. Where I noticed that they had it, it was actually labelled "half and half" or was in those little creamer containers.

The large dispensers at the All Stars definitely contain the coffeemate stuff. I found that fact out the hard way, as I have a bad physical "reaction" to something in the non-dairy creamers...and trust me, you don't want any more details than that. :scared1:

I'm happy that I drink coffee the way it was intended, black!

I bought a 4-cup programmable coffee pot at Walmart in Kissimmee. It was less than $20 and we brought a can of Tim Horton's with us. The coffee at Disney has some sort of after taste. It's not vanilla but is has a funky flavour to be sure. We drive so we bring it with us whenever we go. I do know a family that flies and buys a new one each visit. You'd pay $20 to buy coffee on site in just one week easily.

We were at VWL in July and the coffee from the diner wasn't bad and they even had a real creme dispenser. I did take my little bag of Starbucks with me and made my own most mornings. I also got my half and half. We stayed at AMu the year before and the coffee was terrible.

I bought a small one at Target - I think around $10 - and brought coffee from home. We left it behind. In hindsight -the idea was the next person who got the room could have the coffee-pot - but in reality, I guess housekeeping had to remove it. :confused3

next time, we plan to do the same thing but will make conversation with folks we see arriving and just pass it off if they want it. I need all the space I can get in my suitcase!!

We're in on a fridge swap, so I will likely leave our $10 coffee maker with the fridge. We'll bring our own coffee - either Tims or Starbucks
