DD and her fiancé are planning a Disney-honeymoon for early November 2021 and we are all excited for them! Budget is a concern, of course, so they have decided to stay at Coronado Springs in a standard room (2 queen beds) to save money. Does anyone have descriptions of the different styles of buildings/rooms (Casitas, Cabanas, Ranchos, I think are the styles)? Is there one area you'd really recommend, or recommend that we avoid? What is the food situation like at CSR; what's open? Also any suggestions on grocery delivery (how's it done, as this is a Convention resort, can we mail packages to be held for arrival, etc)? I'm also considering ordering some sort of surprise/welcoming package for them, to be there at check in (which will be very late as their flight lands at 11:15pm and they are using Magical Express). Any suggestions, tips, pictures, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the Coronado Springs thread on this page. I think you'll find a lot of answers!

I stayed there for the first time In December. I stayed again in March and am going again in May. I'm hooked on that resort! It was never on my radar before we got a hotwire deal there in December.

What I like:

Nice, refurbed rooms
Beautiful grounds
Three Bridges restaurant- pretty water views and great food
Dahlia Lounge

I've stayed in Ranchos and Casitas. Rooms size/décor and views are all similar. It is mainly the theming outside that is different. I am hoping for Cabanas in May so I will know how all three are. I preferred Casitas , I think. I did a standard room, but we had a water view, close to the first bus stop, We were in casita 5.

We had no issues with pool or busses. Though, they have a huge hot tub that I really wanted to use, but it was packed at night. We aren't big on resort QS, but I know a lot of people do not like the limited offerings they have now. By November that could be much better though. We ate at Rix one night without an ADR and no wait. It was good. I would not go out of my way to eat there if I was not staying there, but it was good for what we had. I would go out of my to eat at Three Bridges. Really love the open air concept there.

It's my favorite of all the moderate resorts. It's sort of a deluxe lite because it's a convention resort. I don't think any of the areas are too far away and all have something to offer. The big pool is nice and we have found the hot tub there seems to be less crowded with kids than hot tubs at other resorts. We like the little leisure pools located in each section as well. I like that there are a number of sit down restaurants as opposed to just QS, we are not fans of QS in resorts. We always stay in a standard room and never worry about preferred or view, they all have the outside hallways so you probably aren't going to be sitting with your curtains open anyway. We don't have groceries delivered so can't answer that, I'm on vacation which means I'm eating out and we love the food at Disney. The buses are the buses are buses no matter where you stay. There is a bus stop in each section and the only one that might be an issue is if you are trying to get on the bus early in the morning at the main building, it is the last stop and the bus is often full by the time it gets there. We usually get off at that one no matter which area we are staying in and just walk to our building and get on in our own stop.
