We are going to CG and I am not sure the entrees on the menu really look that appealing. What is your favorite thing to order there. Thanks;)

My favorites are pork tenderlion and also the filet. Any of the flatbreads are great!!! :goodvibes

We love the California Grill, but our favorite items are actually the sushi, flatbreads and 1st courses.

For sushi:

Spicy Kazan Roll - shrimp, crab & tuna with spicy fireball sauce, tempura crunch and bay scallops

Shrimp Tempura Roll - (off menu, but ask) - rice paper, tempura shrimp, mango and watermelon, orange ginger sauce

For first courses:

Lobster Salad

Crispy Rock Shrimp Asian Salad

Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli

Risotto (seasonal)

Soup (seasonal)

Enjoy :thumbsup2

My favorite is the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli and the filet. CG is our favorite place to eat at Disney.

Have to agree about the flatbreads, sushi, and first courses. Mind you, my entree, which was the scallops, did not dissapoint, and my husband's filet was incredible, but its the small plates that really shine at CG. Its a tough place to have the dining plan for, as I would gladly make a meal out of a flatbread and sushi, let's say, as opposed to ordering an entree.

I SWEAR I can still taste the smoked salmon flatbread we had there in February. I was a little wary of combining a smoked salmon flatbread that had creme fraiche on it with sushi, but somehow everything just worked deliciously.

Agree with the sonoma goat cheese ravioli, flatbreads and ANY of the appetizers. They change often and are ALL good! I'm not a sushi person, but I know EVERYONE we talk to who has had it raves about it.

As others have said, the pork tenderloin and filet are excellent.
I add one more: the chicken is the best I've EVER had anywhere. It was the most tender, flavorful chicken dish. I know, it's just chicken, right? No~ it was amazing! It is an excellent choice too and won't disappoint.

Is the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli an appetiser or entree? If it's an app, can you get it as an entree on the DDP?

It is considered an appetizer. It is one big ravioli in a sauce on a small plate. It would not be enough for a meal, and on the DDP, you are using two TS credits, so you would not be getting the value of the meal.
It is pricey to pay oop for appetizers on the DDP here, but well worth it in my opinion. If you are going to do it anywhere, here is the place!

I'm not a sushi person either, but the shrimp tempura sushi w/ rice paper instead of seaweed that a PP mentioned is soooo good if you like shrimp. Plus keep in mind that they are VERY accommodating & if you don't see something you like...ask. DH & I have simple tastes & we've asked them to substitute mashed potatoes instead of polenta for instance or vanilla ice cream instead of raspberry w/ the chocolate cake & they have no problem doing it.

They will offer you two big ravioli for an entree though, because I've had it that way.

I really liked the crispy chicken. :thumbsup2

Has anyone had the Sweet Potato-Ricotta Tortelloni? I'm considering having it on my next trip.

The Crispy Asian Rock Shrimp Salad is really, really, really good. Actually, you can hardly go wrong with anything on the menu here. Sometimes things sound a little strange, but I have yet to have something that's less than excellent at CG, and we go there every trip. The menu changes a lot (based on what's in season) but you're in good hands.

One thing not mentioned here yet that we ALWAYS get is the cheese board. 5 cheeses with accompaniments for $20. It is always excellent and fun to share. (I'm also a big fan of the pork tenderloin, the filet, the salmon and the chicken. My husband also enjoys the wild striped bass. Their soups are often excellent, though I enjoy the creamy soups that are offered in the fall/winter more than the spring/summer offerings.

The chocolate cake with warm, molten center is very nice - lately it's been offered with cherry ice cream, but I always request vanilla. In the past, the ice cream and sauce has been coffee/caramel based. The lemon cheesecake and banana dish are also very good. The strawberry shortcake was disappointing, not because it's unlike "real" strawberry shortcake, but because it was just blah.
