What do you Like/Dislike about your Job?

I truly love what I do. It can be stressful and hard work, but I still love it. I just don't like the atmosphere and feel of the company at many times.

I like what I do. Running queries and programs feel like detective work to me.

What I don't like is when people think that just pushing a couple buttons will give them their answer. They don't realize that it takes time to create a template, create the queries, and run and test it. They think I have a magic voila button.

I like that I have great co-workers in my department. There are 20 of us in marketing and we have birthday lunches every month, eat lunch together most days, and we feel like we're a big family. We work together really well and if someone needs help, everybody is willing to chip in to get the job done.

What I don't like is that since I'm the only data person around, I seem to always have too much to do and not enough time to do it all.

Other than that, better pay would be good.:teeth:

I love the fact that my job is unpredictable from day to day. I am in the military, but the civilian equivalet would be scheduler to a CEO of a major company.

Of course that means things change from minute to minute, but I would not have it any other way.

I was a SAHM, in the national guard part time, until I was called back up full time. The job I am in now is one of very few that would have put me back in the full time work force! Despite the insane days like today, I wouldn't choose any other career other than SAHM!!

I like what I do. I like staying home and working with my kids :D

The whining can be a bit much...but worth it!

I love the people, the environment, what I do. There isn't anything that I dislike about my actual job or where I work. But I do dislike some of the "politics" that we have to deal with from the one we are affiliated with.

I hate what I do (manual labor) and having to see my dad everyday (it's awkward, I usually see him about twice a week and we're not close), since I'm working for him.
I like the money I'm making. Lots more than I'd make anywhere else. Not trying to sound greedy, but I'm saving for college, so it's important.

Like setting my own hours, taking off when we want, wahat we do, ( my job and my hobby are the same:) ) dont like no insurance, no pay check when it gets slow and we h ave no calls, and te fct i cant do it now:) dw and i own a home repair remodeling service:) i am a master carpenter:)

Likes: Variety.

Dislikes: Deadlines. Definitely a pecking order with project assignments.

Likes - good pay, good hours, and i'm usually pretty busy so the day goes fast.

Dislikes - office politics, double standards (one gets, other does not), being "middle management" where I supervise a staff, yet have no real say so in policy.

Like - it is never the same job two days in a row. I'll never be bored! The challenges are immense, sometimes, but so are the emotional rewards.

Dislike - the feeling that I'm on a treadmill most of the time. The work eats into evening family time.

The latest thing is not knowing where I'll be sitting or what hours I'll be working.

The biggest thing I hate is getting yelled at by customers because other shifts didn't do their job and I have to be the one to reap the consequences of their screw ups.

My most recent job:

I HATED my new boss and his idiocy. The man was so not qualified for the position...Im convinced it a rock was more qualified for his position. And I am happy to report that he is now on the hot seat and the fast track to unemployement..the same place he left me. :bounce:

I LOVED the other people I worked with..some of the best friends I could ever ask for. I genuinly loved going to work and having a good time. I loved making my clients laugh or smile. One of the most fullfilling moments ever was when one of my clients came to us and told us how the commercial we produced for his company single handedly saved his buisness! ::yes::

Now when I was at WDW, I LOVED 98% of it! Playing with kids, making magic, having fun at work....man what a great life that was. The two things I disliked, the constant heat and rude/violent guests.

Sigh...I miss the good old days at WDW.

Love: hugs & kisses, funny things 3 year olds say, sleeping in with the kids

Dislike: getting up through the night for feedings, teething, poopy diapers, trying to get the kids to sleep so I can DIS! Oh yeah, dishes, laundry, cleaning, etc, etc!!

I'm a 6th grade band director in a large band program with a long history of success.

Like:

-small school (450 students)
-6th graders only
-good staff at our school
-working with other band directors in our district (we have 8)
-not as much stress as high school band (did that for 12 years)
-my partner & I get along well
-good hours (7-3 most days)
-summer off (actually mid-June to August 1)
-my job is not all-consuming

Don't like:

-6th graders can be annoying!!!
-stress trying to maintain quality program (our work is monitored closely by music supervisor)
-not being able to work with more mature musicians

I'm a waitress and I really enjoy my job, most of the time.

I like my part-time hours, the people that I work with, repeat customers who are fun to wait on, and of course...the TIPS

I don't like rude customers, repeat customers who never ever tip no matter how great the service is, people who let their kids run around the restaurant, customers who never say please or thank you or acknowledge in any way that you are serving them, customers who decline dessert then change their mind after you bring the bill to them, impatient customers (usually it's elderly people) who can't stand to wait 30 seconds for you to refill their coffee even though they can see the restaurant is full and you have more customers than just them to take care of, parents who let their infants make a total mess and not even try to contain it just a little (some even let them eat directly off the table and not even use a plate :crazy2: ), and last but not least customers who call me "honey", "dearie", "sweetie", even though my name tag is right on their table.

Oh, good day to ask me what I hate. I'm still a little cranky from my day yesterday!

I don't want to bore you all with a lengthy explanation, but simply put I am sick of not being valued. My opinion doesn't count. I am sick of no one in the company standing up for good design - we put crap out for consumers to buy and wonder why it doesn't sell. It looks horrible, that's why!

what I like - ask me another day, maybe the day I find a new job!

Well I'm still in college so I don't exactly have a real job yet. Right now I work at the cafe in Barnes & Noble. I actually like my job. At any other job, I'd probably be doing register all day. At my job, sometimes I do register, sometimes I do barista, and other times I'm just on support making any drinks, or doing something in the back. I really like all the people I work with, we all seem to get along great and we all know each other well since there's only about 15 people working in the cafe. My boyfriend is also a cafe worker so it's nice that I get to work with him sometimes. The pay is pretty good, especially considering it's my first job. The schedule is very flexible, and our hours are always different every week. Also if someone messes up an order (which happens a few times a day), we're allowed to drink whatever it is without paying for it (since it would go to waste anyway). We also get a 50% discount at the cafe, along with discounts on books and music.

I guess the only bad thing I can think of, is that I don't like when I have to close. The store closes 11 pm everyday (even Sunday!), and I usually have to close at least 2-3 times a week. It's not fun cleaning, and we usually don't get out until 11:30, and if it's really busy, sometimes we don't get out until 12:00.

Not the best time to ask me, as far as "likes" go, but anyway, here it is:

(Travel agent)

Likes:
1. For the most part, those I work with.
2. The little bit of discounted travel and perks I can still dig up and use. (Disney, of course!)

Dislikes:
1. Dealing with the airlines, hotels, tour operators, car rentals etc. who never take the blame for when THEY mess up and instead blame US.
2. The CONSTANT changing of rules and regulations and trying to keep it all straight.
3. The clients you can never please not matter what you do.
4. Trying to beat the internet prices for a few bucks.
5. People who are always changing everything.
6. Those you have to "babysit" and coddle. (Happens all the time!)
7. People who don't believe you even though you've been doing this for 14 years.

OH, I could go on and on. I won't. Needless to say, I'm in the market for a new job.

Like: Most of my coworkers, flexibility on hours

Dislike: My immediate supervisor. She has no clue what she is doing. Very very disruptive. Fortunately, "her" boss is catching on. ;) The commute!! UGH! I hate Atlanta traffic!!!
