things I hate
long corridors
scary clown slide
drunken individuals at the pool bar
perfect bodies
outlanders viewing from the map point
rude people
people stealing my space under the umbrellas
full pools
having to share buses
having restaurants too close
perfect planners with all their food entertainment etc booked
people with too much money
the smell of cooking drifting over the pool area
too much sun
the heavy summer rains
gaudy concrete swans and dolphins
flying insects
biting insects
and yet i return !!!![]()
I realize that you're talking about Walt Disney World, but we love the Villas at the Grand Californian at the Disneyland Resort in California. VGC is small, much smaller than the resorts at WDW, which makes it a little more intimate. The decor is in the California Arts and Crafts still which is very warm and inviting. Probably 2/3 of the views are directly into the theme park (Disney's California Adventure). The walk from the VGC to DCA is minutes; to DL is maybe 5 minutes. The restaurants of the GCH are outstanding. The whole environment is just more intimate.
) so it was a no brainer for them. We will be doing our first stay there in September (we are all very excited about it too). Then this past year (2 days after Thanksgiving) we bought more points into SSR. We originally wanted to buy into BCV but decided the price/point was much smaller and the years on the contract was more. We are very happy with our decision because in January we stayed there for 3 nights in a 1-bedroom and loved everything about the resort. It is so beautiful and so remote which is what we like.
We had never been on AKV protperty when we purhcased. DH and i had always wanted to stay there but just never made it over. He was the one that "had to own there"..I didn't care and just wanted to be on property. He made a terrific decision. Unfortunately for me, DH is a DVC purist and won't stay at other resorts. I would love to try them but he ins't interested at all and thinks that AKV is hands down the BEST resort.
