Hi
Im considering a split stay that includes BCV for our November trip. What do you like about it? What should we be sure to try if we stay there?

Family is DH, DS-9, and myself.

Thanks!

Most people love the pool. I love the close parking to the villas and the close walk to Epcot.

1. The walk to Epcot and the abundance of dining choices within walking distance

2. SAB

3. Movies on the Beach

4. The quick walk over to the Boardwalk and Jellyrolls

5. Easy access to DHS

Agree with the movies on the Beach. Also:

1. Lounging in the Solarium
2. BC Marketplace
3. Beaing able to go to B&C without getting wet if it's raining.
4. The wonderful smell when I first walk into the BCV
5. Sitting in the rocking chairs facing the beach outside

I'm a big fan of BCV although I have no interest in SAB.

Location, Location, Location.
We love walking into Epcot WS in the evening for a meal in one of the International restaurants. Walking home after Illuations is priceless. We like the walk to DHS and the boat is an option if it is too hot or we are too tired.
We love the theme of BCV
WE love the Boardwalk area and all the restaurant choices within walking distance.
Parking is close and easy.
Location, Location, Location.
We like the quiet pool.
We love our BCV

Not to be Debbie Downer, but there are few other things you should also know about BCV:

- Per the point Inkmahm made about "close parking to villas," this resort wins the award for the DVC property having ground floor villas that feature the feel of a driveway running through the bedroom. Because Disney had to squeeze this property into an already built-up area, many 1st floor villas are set so their exterior walls are literally a few feet from roadways and parking lots. If you unfortunately end up in one, welcome to lots of late night roaring and rumbling.

- As nice as it is, SAB is inarguably a terrible pool for parents of young starting swimmers, because the site lines are poor due to the design and landscaping of the pool. And the currents in the lazy river part can be quite strong. And during high seasons the place gets very, very crowded.

- You can't make ARDs at the heavily (and IMHO over) hyped Beaches and Cream, so get ready to wait - sometimes for long periods-- unless you eat at off times.

- Because of the position of the property relative to the World Showcase section of Epcot, there are no truly full, unobstructed views of Illuminations from any BCV villa. People after that need to reserve a Boardwalk view villa across the lake at BWV.

I don't make these points to imply BVC is a bad property - it's not and I completely agree with most of the positives others have shared. But it's not a perfect resort and I feel everyone should go in knowing the plus and minuses!!

As others have said, tremendous location.

We enjoy the pool options. (BCV Pool, SAB, & BC quiet pool)

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

Reading all the great things about the Beach Club makes me even more excited about our upcoming first stay in June/July!

I have seen negative posts by "Candy Mandy" in other threads as well.
Don't be discouraged by what was said.
We love BCV and have had great experiences there. Cape May has a very relaxed character breakfast. We often get sundaes to go from beach & Cream and eat out by the lake... enjoying the view of boardwalk and the surroundings. I agree... you need to be heads up at SAB... very easy to lose track of those in your group.
The quick walk to EPCOT is great. I suggest watching Illuminations from the bridge near France. You can be back in your villa while others are still waiting to get on their bus!

We are excited about staying at BCV mainly for SAB. But we went back and forth between staying here and staying at BWV for the view and because my kids think the BW pool looks pretty awesome too. I know as DVC members we can pool hop. Is that a possiblity to walk over to the BW Luna pool to try it out? Do people do that?

Huskies, you can pool hop to BWV unless your stay is during one of the high season "hopping blackouts." The Keister Coaster slide there is great, 200 feet of bewlidering, twisting fun, a nice variation of sliding compared to the fast (almost too so, the ride seems very short) but simple, "dragstrip" design of the Shipwreck slide at SAB.

:rolleyes1 We have seen Robert being very sensitive when any discussion that isn't 100% positive on Disney occurs.

I agree. Candy Mandy is a relatively new poster on the DIS and seems to have a "half full glass" view of things.
I agree readers should know both the postive and the negative things, but based on his/her posts, his/her view is pretty negative all the time.I love BCV but I am the first to tell you 1) I am biased, 2) It is not perfect, and 3) It is not it for everyone. We will enjoy it none the less
Have a great trip

I am definietley in the minority here on the DIS,

H & V is one of only 2 restaurants in all of WDW that I will not return to. Hot food was not hot, cold food was not cold. The food did not taste good.

I was disappointed in Biergarten in October. Perhaps it was all the hype here. I didn't really like the food - the chicken schnitzel was really dry - and I found the entertainment to be a very short set.

I was very disappointed on our trip in October. Perhaps I was expecting too much based on all of the reviews here. We waited 45 minutes to check in (the line was ridiculous) and than probably another 30 to be seated.

I'm certainly proud to be in the "half glass" club with Hopefully!!;)

Wow!! Candy Mandy, what an awesome picture of Luna Park. Thanks!! You wouldn't happen to have a similar picture of Stormalong Bay that shows off whole the slide and/or the vastness of the pool itself?

I'm definately a glass half full type of person. I fell in love with the Beach Club when I first stayed there in 1993! I couldn't wait for BCV to open... that is where I wanted to buy. I stayed at BWV back when it 1st opened, staying with friends. I agree, the Keister coaster is great... more fun than a long tube.
My wife calls me a "Disney Snob" because I love anything Disney! I don't always agree with the executive & management decisions in recent years.
I always go with the main goal of fun & enjoyment!

If you go to Allears.net you can find some fantastic pictures of the SAB area.
I own at BCV and bought during the presale just for the idea of having access to SAB. We have stayed there only 4 times and enjoyed it each time but given a choice I always pick OKW. We did have a 2BR that was on the top floor and ended in 53 I think that was the best balcony we have had there as it went the full length of the villa so was big enough for everyone to be out there at once and watch the high illuminations fireworks. We also had one on the 3rd floor on that same side of the building that was over the canal and we enjoyed watching the turtles and fish.
I like the ability to walk to EPCOT and DHS or take the boat. I did not care for the bus situation the times we stayed there as there were 5 resorts sharing the buses then. I think I have read that it is better now. I will be staying there again when I am looking for a quiet trip with lots of pool time or one where we plan on being at EPCOT or DHS most of the time. Hope you have a wonderful time and can make up your own mind and report back about it after the trip.

I've seen the pics on allearsnet and they are great. But I was looking for one like the Luna Park one that shows the whole pool and slide. It almost looks like an official Disney photo.

Thanks for sharing...sometimes when people talk about what they like about a place you learn about the often overlooked perks. Love the comment about strolling home after Illuminations and the common areas to kick back and take in a view...all of course while holding an icecream. ;)

Really hoping my dates will be available!

Thanks again!
