What do you know about Cumbrian Lakes?

Is it reasonably priced because it's so far away? I have heard different answers on this one.....but how far exactly is it from the parks? International Drive? Universal? Seaworld? Chocolate night?LOL, getting carried away now. Thanks for any info you might have. I hope I don't have to drive to far everyday, we're looking at 10 nights+3 @ the Nick Hotel.
And are most villa pools really small, or bigger than they look? TIA.
