What do you keep in your Owners Locker?

I like the idea of the locker and I've often considered investing in the program, but I can never think of enough items to store to warrant the outlay.

The obvious things for me are toiletries, which weigh a ton and we invariably end up binning before the return flight. Other than that, the only thing which immediately springs to mind is a couple of wine glasses for any studio stays.

I don't think we'd be likely to want to leave clothes behind, but I'm sure there must be lots of things I'm overlooking.

I don't have a locker at the moment but have thought about it in the past. I will be interested to see what others say.

I would leave things like my us hair straightners & hairdryer, possibly a small kettle.

Deb, you have no idea how glad I am that you asked this question. I was just discussing this very thing with DH over the weekend as we were considering it but weren't sure exactly what we might leave in it.

I would definitely be interested to hear what other UK owners used theirs for :)

Clothes are the first thing that springs to mind as many of the items I wear on holiday, such as shorts, I don't tend to wear anywhere else.

We always throw away sun cream, shower gel, shampoo, hair gel etc but to be honest most are either half empty or not worth keeping.
I am not sure I would want to save half empty bottles of toileteries for what could be at least a year.
We have travel iron, hairdryer but staying in a villa means we never take our own anyway.

Beach towels are one thing we could store, as we often find there is not the room to bring them home with us, sometimes we take our own and others we buy out there.
Electrical adaptor is another thing. We always use messenger bags around the parks so I could easily leave a couple of them behind - then again I have to take 3 on the plane anyway to fit in Joshua's DVD player and all the other stuff I have to carry.

It is a fantastic idea - just not sure it would work for us.

I did consider OL, but alot of the stuff we would put in there we would need when we travel to other places. I am sure OL is great if WDW is your only holiday destination. Like the idea of beach towels though as they do take up alot of room and maybe a kettle.

Claire ;)

Even though Florida has been our main destination in recent years we would never have enough to put in. Like Johnny we throw stuff away but its not much as we take right amounts for days there. Only things I can think of are mugs but at 99c each its cheaper to buy new each trip and odd bits like 4 way plug adapter. Never take towels, use hotels or the rare visits to water parks rent for a $1 each.

Its a business idea I had before OL started and said people would not pay the price to make it work so really glad someone is making it work.

We've had one since they started and it's brilliant. We leave a ton of stuff in it that we only ever use in Florida and it saves us lugging it back and forth across the Atlantic, plus we can get better quality stuff as we know we're not going to be throwing it away at the end of the holiday. Our locker includes things like

US adaptors and chargers for all our electrical stuff
Spare batteries & charger
Bum bags / park bags
Park water bottles
Spray misters
2 way radios
Ponchos
Lanyards
Waterpark mugs
Autograph books / pool toys for the kids
Beach towles
walking sandals and clothes for the parks that we wouldn't really wear at home
Better quality plastic bowles, cutlery and wine glasses for studio stays.
Sun cream and toiletries plus shaving gear for DH
a first aid kit
plastic storage boxes for cereal / tea / coffee
coffee filters

We're coming back in October so I'll leave my summer clothes and all the kids clothes (we're are hardly likely to need them back in Ireland between now and then ;) ) and that means we can travel out on just hand luggage which will be so much easier.

I'd say it's well worth it and I believe Owners Locker are offering a risk free trial, sign up for a year and if you don't like it you'll get your money back (plus I think there is a discounted joining fee for the Dis)

Have a look on their web site http://www.ownerslocker.com/ I bet if you do get one you'll wonder how you managed without it.

I am considering getting one when we are next in Florida and then not bringing too much stuff back home:thumbsup2 I was going to put cutlery and a sharp knife for when we stay in a studio, toiletries, condiments, pool toys plus an airbed & bedding, as I think the two boys will get fed up of sharing a sofa bed when they are a bit older.

I would like to think that DH and I could leave a selection of clothes, nightwear, swimwear and shoes (although the children will outgrow theirs!!;)) - an ideal situation for us would be just to carry hand luggage when we travel!!

As most of our future stays will be in 1 bed DVC's, where we have access to a washer dryer, I think we could get away with 4-5 outfits each which we could wash as we go.

I love the idea of an owners locker, but I think the only way I will really convince Steve is if he can see that our luggage is virtually non existent!! - so thats my ultimate aim:lmao:

We had exactly the same coversation over the weekend too Joh!

Having gone through the receipts for last year we discovered that we didn't spend nearly that amount on anything that we would want to keep.

We take our own travel kettle but the room always has an iron and I don't take a hairdryer. We don't stay in a villa and we are out of the room alot so in the end we decided that it wasn't for us.

The one thing I did do was buy a ton of travel toiletries over here to take with us and I have to say that most lasted until near the end of the holiday and I bought two of the Treseme bottles to bring back home but that was the only thing really.
