what do you hate about scrapping?

Figuring out what to scrap, and how to scrap it. It takes me forever to come up with a page idea, once I know what I want to do, actually doing it is no problem. I also have like 10 Disney trips to do, but all my photos are digital, so first I have to figure out which pictures to print, edit them, print them. So I guess, getting organized!

DH would say, that everytime I start a new page, I have to buy something new! :)

This is a cute thread:

1) Thinking of an idea for a page. I gather all the pictures and then flip through magazines or Becky Higgins' Sketchbook and wait for inspiration to hit. Sometimes it never does!

2) Journaling. I hate to journal and I hate my handwriting even more. I hate having to go across the house to the computer to print it out, but I can't stand the way my handwriting looks on the page.

3) Interrruptions. I hate when I get everything out and actually think of an idea and then the kids start screaming. Once I get started I need to finish!

being right in the middle of a great project and then hearing, "MAMA? Can you.........(fill in any number of things here.)"

Anyone with me on this? And of course, I stop scrapping and I'm pretty much not going to get back to it at that time............as I find a new, more enjoyable project waiting for me like gum in the hair.......... :flower:

UGH-----------totally with you on that one! Or the baby wakes up from her nap 60-90 minutes before I expect her to!!!

I am new to this board. I usually hang out at the Community board but thought this sounded like a nice place so...I'll chime in.

1. The mess definitely-I can't stand it and neither can DH

2. The expense-I spent nearly $200 on our WDW book last year. Shh... don't tell DH, he hangs out at the Dis too!

3. Taking the plunge and actually starting on a project-it can be so overwhelming in the beginning. I am 2 books behind right now.

4. Having the perfect idea in my head, but can't find the materials to match my idea and have to go with something else

Lack of time Lack of time
Feeling overwhelmed and far behind

The price for all the cool stuff.

I don't have much, I FINALLY got the CM cutting systems and I have been doing it for over 10 years.

Starting a page. It's like writers block every time looking at a blank page. That is my biggest problem. I'm just not creative in designing & picking colors. I'm a crafter that does better assembling kits.

Sometimes I wonder what was I thinking by starting to scrapbook.

1. Putting refills in albums..UGH!
2. Never being able to find the embellishments I need (problem recently solved)
3. Never having the "right" color card stock (always one or 2 shades wrong)
4. uploading my pages to a site and getting no feedback/comments because I like doing very simple pages. Those really elaborated layouts are just not me.

I recently took over our spare bedroom/office and have made it into my office/scraproom and it is about 75% finished. It has made my life so much easier. I just need to get some shelves to help with my organization! Feel free to peek at my space: NEW SCRAPROOM

Lynn, Just checked out your scrap room! What a nice change! Became very chipper and probably more creative for you now with the colors And what a fantastic idea to use vanity bottoms! I would have never thought to do that! Did you have to custom order the top? or was that stock too?

At first I wanted a 9 foot top in a certain color and got a quote on it from Home Depot and they wanted about 500! ACK that wasn't in the budget so I waited. I went to Lowes to use up a gift card and happend to see they had stock tops. I ended up getting a 10 foot one for $90.00. The color is close to what I want so we bought it.

I got the idea for the vanities from a scrap magazine last year.

It has made cropping so much easier and I am pretty much organized and can find my supplies!

I LOVE your scrap room! At the moment I'm just starting - I signed a CMC agreement last week so I'm waiting for my new toys to arrive. In the meantime I cleared half of one shelf in the utility room next to the computer - I know it won't be enough - and part of a shelf in the garage (where my Pampered Chef stuff used to be) to placate DH. he doesn't know about the e-bay grab bags and the Heritage album kit and pages in the cupboard where we keep our photo albums ;-)

I have waited many years to finally move to a bigger house so I could have my own room and I can leave it messy and just close the door...LOL
