I have an opportunity to stay there very cheap through a friend. We were planning on staying at a value, but when this opportunity came up, I started to consider the Hilton. What do you guys think, Hilton or value? Is the Double Tree or Embassy Suites better? Hilton owns them all and I can get the same great deal on all of these. Like under $40 a night. Which do you guys think would be best?

Thanks,
Amy

Well the Embassy Suites is MUCH more space and a great free breakfast. However, it is not on property.

DoubleTree is not great.

Hilton is very nice, great location and you can take advantage of EMH.

For that price I would jump on either the Hilton or Embassy

Hilton is very nice but if you're looking for that Disney magic feeling then you probably better off staying at one of the Disney Value resorts.
Pop Century is the newest and pretty cool. The other bonus of the Disney value resorts is the huge food courts that offer a little something for everyone and the refillable mugs. The buses at the value resorts run consistently, I'm not sure how the Downtown Disney resort buses compare.
Either way they both off something different, but if I had to choose it would definitly be one of the Disney value resorts.
Good luck,
Tom

Just stayed at DoubleTree, like CarolA said, it's not great, but the rooms are large. I did go to the Hilton each morning for my daily Starbucks fix. :woohoo:

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want the extra Disney magic at your hotel, go for the value. I liked the convenience & location of the DTD hotels & would choose the Hilton, because we chose to do other Orlando attractions.

Now I'm nervous....going to DT in three weeks -- and you say it isn't great? is it the condition of the hotel? The large suites are very attractive for families. Can you walk to the Hilton for Starbucks? I would want to do that if the coffee is yucky at the DoubleTree.

flagdaytwins--Don't be nervous. :) I have no regrets choosing the DT for our family vacation!! Normally I am an "adults only" spoiled, seasoned traveler. :rolleyes1 DT gets four stars from me, being spoiled, I'm looking for the five star, deluxe resort. The suite was great, beds very comfortable, clean, bathrooms a bit dated. I didn't try the coffee @ DT (again spoiled & I knew ahead of time where to find my fix). The Hilton would be about .5 mile walk, so yes, you can walk. You can also walk to Downtown Disney, it's a bit of a jaunt, but do-able.

Again DT was perfect for our family trip & I'm sure you'll have a great time. It met my expectations & would choose it again. :thumbsup2 The couples only traveler in me likes different amenities.....a spa, Starbucks, a balcony.

You'll do fine.

I got the Hilton through priceline for $62 per night...if you can get it for under $40...isn't that amazing? How bad can it be? It's considered a 4-5 star RESORT.
