What do you guys think of Snow White's Scary Adventures?

And here I was, thinking that I was the only adult scared of the part where the Witch suddenly turns around! :rotfl:

Well, I always laugh on this ride...because of the ending. The one at WDW was much better and complete.

Personally, I've never been frightened by any of the dark rides at DL or WDW. But then again, I'm an adult. I can see how some of them could scare a small child though.

I'm not sure I trust current WDI to COMPLETELY redo the classic FL dark rides, honestly. When I think about what they might do, I get visions of lots of video screens.....:3dglasses :scared:

(only joking...sorta) ;)

That is exactly what I was thinking. It would be nice if they could add at least one scene on at the end so it doesn't end in such a weird way but I wouldn't trust them to redo the whole ride without messing it up somehow in an attempt to make it modern.

Actually, I sort of like the ride because of the weird ending. It makes me laugh because it is so strange. I agree that the witch turning around is pretty scary. DS3 has been on it a few times and doesn't seemed bothered by it at all but I'm not sure he understands that it is scary, he's just fascinated by the movement of the ride.

Oh, and just for the record, I like the Pinocchio ride. I like the toy workshop at the end.

My husband feels the same way - that it hits on all the scary and then has such an abrupt end.

Interestingly enough - we hadn't ridden it in a few years and the girls asked to go this year. When we rode it, we noticed they had changed a couple things - that some of the scary trees had been "pulled back" away from the cars. Also, they added that cottage up front. Talking to a CM, this was to reduce the "scary" even further.

Did you know when they reworked it the last time, when they added Snow White in, it was also to reduce the "scary". People didn't get that they were supposed to be seeing the ride from Snow White's perspective. The same is true for Pinnochio. We're supposed to feel what he feels.

Now what really creeps me out - to turn around in Pooh and see the lifeless heads of Buff, Max, and the 3rd animal from CBJ.... I expect them to turn on and laugh maniacally at me any second....... :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared1:

LOL I like it, but I agree it can be a bit rough and creepy. The one at MK tells the story better and makes a lot more sense IMHO.

ITA!! I really like the Pooh ride. A lot. Probably my favorite dark ride. I love that it's "old" Pooh and not "new" Playhouse Disney Super Sleuth Pooh.

But ANYWAYS, The Country Bears scared the living daylights out of me when I was a kid. And when I knew that they were in the Pooh ride and I turned around and saw their big giant furry heads..... :scared1: :scared1:

Haha!

I pretty much share the same sentiments. The first time I rode this ride was last year (so late in the game, I know). I had heard that it was a little creepy, but I didn't expect much since we were in DL. But once we got into the dungeon and that Evil Queen turned around from the mirror and the witch popped out... Man, I was so weirded out and perturbed I didn't know what to do with myself while I was in that ride lol.

And JUST when I thought I was going to get a resolution in the end, the ride's over with a "And they lived happily ever after".... I was like, "ARE YOU SERIOUS?"

But I mean, I enjoy it. I make a point to go on it now just to get that creeped out feeling it gives me. I consider it another branch of the magic, lol :wizard:

Well, it's better than Pooh's Acid Trip.

lol! When I took the 'kids' three years ago (kids being 17 and two 18s...) we went on the Pooh ride. The young man who was in charge of the ride looked at us like we were nuts. As in..."why would 4 adults want to do this?" We had a ball. At the time, I didn't think of it as Pooh's Acid Trip, but how accurate! :cool2: :thumbsup2

I think when the Pooh ride operator sees four adults "having a ball" on the ride they are required to call park security due to the suspicious behavior.

ok it's a bit streamlined storytelling, but it doesn't creep me out like mr. toad's ride, i mean really ya get hit by a train and go to HE double hockeysticks. .. yeah that is a warm and fuzzy ride. . . however a nice ride when it is COLD outside when you are that WARM place after the train. . really snow white creeps some of you out more than MR. Toad????

I agree with it being the ending being too abrupt. I still like the ride and we do it several times each trip. :)

When I rode the one at Magic Kingdom in WDW I have to say it was much better. A longer ride and more true to the storyline. They even show her laying in the glass coffin and the Prince kneeling to kiss her. It ends with the dwarfs saying good bye and them riding off together.

In case anyone want to check it out there are several videos of it on youtube. Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huQtY_8iV9E

Wow, thanks for the link mommaU4 !!

Its kind of sad to say, but I kind of like their version better. Although I also have to add that they had the chance to improve the ride because ours is the original. This is making me want to go to WDW and I never really had the want to go there again !
