What do you get in the Concierge rooms?

The price for the concierge rooms looks to be $150 to 200 more than view rooms. Is it more than breakfast and snacks? Is there more included to justify the increase in price? I’m trying to decide which type of room to book.

Thanks.

I have stayed Concierge at the Disneyland Hotel in either a pool view or Downtown Disney view. The rooms are essentially the same as in the other towers except you have a DVD player in your room. You get turndown service at bedtime with chocloate and cookies. You do get priority Concierge Check-in which is a separate counter than normal Hotel check-in. The staff at the Concierge Lounge can make reservations at Disneyland, DCA and Downtown Disney restaurants and they are very helpful. The food varies throughout the day from breakfast in the morning to hot finger food and wine/beer in the late afternoon to a dessert buffet at night. There are snacks throughout the day including coffee, tea, soda and water. My family and I enjoyed staying concierge. We save money on breakfast and dinner - the hot finger food and cheese and crackers make a wonderful light supper or late lunch. You can see the fireworks with piped-in music from the Concierge lounge.

How many will be in your party?

Free Disney DVD rentals too!:thumbsup2

There will be 2 adults and a 6 year old, so we'd save some $$ on breakfast, but we would also like to do a character breakfast, so it might be a wash. I do love the idea of being able to watch the fireworks with music from the lounge. Where is the lounge, and is it the same narration and music as in the park?

correct me if I'm worng, but dont you already get dvd players and turndown at the GCH. I know you dont at the DLH but I thought you did at the GCH.

Yes the fireworks is with the same narration and music as in the park. When are you thinking of going? I just want to be sure the firworks will be available for your stay. The concierge lounge is on the 11th Floor of the Dreams tower.

Yeah, GCH has DVD players and turndown service w/ chocolate.
They also a TV station in GCH where you can hear the fireworks music when it's 9:25, but of course it's only worth watching, or listening to, when your room faces DL.

I didn't notice if you booked Concierge with DLH or GCH?

We stayed Concierge at all 3 DLR hotels, and by far the service is just amazing at GCH.

We do enjoy the concierge lounge, and we have a cocktail hour and actually watch the fireworks from there at least once everytime we go.

But the level of service is just so nice. It may be just that hotel, or Concierge level, but I admit it.

I am now a Concierge :snooty: .

I had the time in my life when the only thing that mattered was time in the parks and I didn't care where I laid my head. But my priorities have changed and I want to relax on my vacation as wel as experience all the magic that I can.

Laying by the pool, a cocktail in the lounge, relaxing in front of the fire. It is all magical!

We had a Concierge room at PP the night before our DCL cruise 2 weeks ago. I'm not real sure how I feel about it yet. I mean the lounge was cool, but we didn't get turn down service (I guess they forgot :confused3 ). There were 5 of us, and I had to call twice for more towels and shampoo, etc....I guess I didn't feel like it was really worth the price (I got an AP rate, which was still a little pricey). We've stayed there many times before in a regular room, and after this trip, I think we may just continue staying in those and not waste the money on concierge. ;) But, for what it's worth, the Mickey Krispies in my siggie were from that night....they brought them up at almost 10 o'clock at night.... Maybe they realized they forgot turn down?? :)

Yes. We were there in June (just a regular room this time -- couldn't justify the 300 dollars more per night they wanted for concierge). Our room had a big flat screen TV and a DVD player in it. Plus, we did get the turndown service each night. We love the GCH!:)

Wow, I had no idea about this.. but then again my fiancee was always the one
to book the room. It looks like a good idea for people who are planning to spend
more time at the hotel. Personally, it'd be kind of a waste for us because we
usually go to the hotel to re-fuel (rest) to get ready for more park fun :)
