What do you feed your dog?

Nutro Senior for our 6 yr old pug and 8 yr old min pin. Prior, was Nutro Max. Same as what was said earlier about less "output." Seems good all this time. They like it.

Never canned for 2 reasons. Teeth, and an acquaintance's dog had botulism many decades ago and I'm still afraid of it.

Adult-Small crunchy bites for our 2 1 year old Dachchunds;)

I have a 12 year old Saluki and I feed her Pedigree small bites, with 1/3 can of wet Pedigree mixed in it about 3 times a week and the rest of the time she has dry. She is quite strange in the fact that she will eat ABSOLUTELY nothing else, no table scraps, no bones, no dog biscuits....Nothing! She will not even eat the cats food. The dry food is much better for their teeth, and she does have the whitest teeth and no dog breath. Her only other vice is she will eat a vanilla creme cookie but only if it is served to her in lawn chair in the yard. I also had greyhounds who ate the Pedigree.........but they also ate everything else!!

2 eat ProPlan turkey barley
1 eats Science Diet K/D for kidney problems
1 eats Science Diet C/D to prevent bladder stones

I feed my little yorkie Eagle Pack, both canned and dry. He loves it. His coat is shiny and he is very healthy and active. The food is holistic (no meat by-products). I buy it at Pet Supplies Plus-it's the only place I can find it.

Hope this helps!:)

Hunter. our yellow Lab, was diagnosed with food allergies this summer. I currently have him on Natures Recipe-Allergy formula, venision & rice. I got it at Petsmart. Because he's a Lab and prone to yeast infections in his ears, I now give him a Tablespoon of organic, non-fat, plain yogurt twice a day with his food. I've only been doing this for the last 2 weeks but his ears are looking better.:D If you're dealing with food allergies it can take several months to see a difference.

Science Diet prescription WD can ( he is old and only has around 6 good teeth left) He is a mini Doxie and is only 7 lbs he can not get overwieght because he has a neck problem .

Our Shepherd gets Nutro Large Breed. No table scraps, no canned food. (I feed my cats Nutro Max.)

OOOH I just HAVE to weigh in here. I have a 7# toy poodle. He eats only Hill's Science Diet Small Bites (for small breeds). When I first got him the vet recommended it. I balked at the price but the vet insisted because it was so much higher in quality that he'd eat less. I'll be dipped in doo, he's right!!! I get mine at Petsmart but Petco also has it for about the same price. I pay $20 for a 20# bag and I buy 2, that's right, 2 a year! A couple times I've tried less expensive brands but he's gone through a 20# bag in a couple of months. That's no bargain. I recommend you get it at the pet store (cheaper than the vet) and keep him on it. You'll save in the long run. Don't feed canned food once a dog is over about 6 months. It gives them the squirts. Solid food has much more fiber.

I feed Natasha, my 14 yo collie, Nutro-Max Natural Choice Senior. Jasmine my 2 yo wild child collie, I feed Eukanuba Premium Performance. Once in a while, I'll mix some canned in with it. I soak both their food down with water and let it sit a while before feeding them. Natasha because she's old and has trouble chewing and jasmine because bloat runs in her line. BTW, check out the cans and biscuits of Iams Lamb and Rice, the collie on them is Jasmine's daddy, had to get that plug in! ;)

The Scottie crew eat Purina EN formula. It is a vet formula that helps with gastro problems since Mac has an elevated liver enzyme. Tipper is overweight so she gets a little Purina OM (obesity management) mixed in when she gets too heavy. This is expensive, but the pups both love it.

Don't buy food with lots of dyes and strong flavorful smells. We made a mistake and put Mac on Kibbles and Chunks and that stuff caused all sorts of allergy issues! Our breeder recommended Purina Puppy Chow when Mac was a puppy. Said it was good and available to everyone. Vet agreed. As an adult, we kept Mac on Science Diet for years until the enzyme problem. He didn't really like it though.

Since your pup has some health issues, make sure you clear your food with the vet. And it is not a good idea to change dog foods often. It can cause stomach problems and make them finicky.

So, what do you feed your dog? What canned food is the best, in your opinion? Did you feed your growing puppy canned food, or only dry? What would you do?
My puppy is a chihuahua who is 3 months old. Such a little puppy!
I feed him Eukenuba Puppy Formula: Dry, little kibbles and Eukenuba puppy formula wet canned food

Breakfast: Just dry food
Lunch: Just dry food
Dinner: I mix a little wet food in with the dry. He really loves this!

Just like cats, dogs do better with dry food, so try and limit your puppy's wet food intake. This is why I only serve wet food during dinner time.

Tip: If you give your puppy wet food alone, he/she could get hooked on this and not want to eat dry food. (Had this problem with my cats.) This is why I mix the wet and dry together for my puppy.

Purina One Lamb and Rice and occasionaly canned food. Mika will only eat Skippy Beef Strips. She's picky and has a sensitive stomach that does not adapt to chage. Blue on the other hans will eat ANYTHING and I mean anything. The makes me think of a new thread. Check out What is the Strangest thing your dog has ever eaten?

My westie gets Eukanuba adult fat reduced food. She has a bit of a weight problem. DH sneaks too many biscuits and dog treats to her. She likes it and with her delicate digestive system she doesn't have any problems with it.

The two Standard Poodles (Sebastian & Winslow) are fed Bravo Frozen Raw Diet. It's very expensive. They've been on Bravo for one year now. Their teeth are clean. They used to eat Wysong Dog Food before Bravo. They drink spring water only and their dog bisquits are Wellness Dog Bisquits all natural.
