What do you fastpass at Epcot?

IMHO, especially with my groups preference on rides and thrills, the only reason we might FP at Epcot is because of Soarin'. Test Track is cool but it doesn't seem worth the wait nor the hype. By the time you design your car, wait in line for your car, and go through all the 'testing', that 40 seconds of speed isn't worth it to us. We all really like Soarin, so we might do a late start and do our FP for that day around dinner at the Bardwalk for Epcot. We're thinking Soarin (T1), Misson Space and Spaceship Earth (T2). I'm contemplating even wasting Fastpasses on it though because last time we went, we didn't really like Mission Space, so we'd essentially just be using three advanced fastpasses just for Soarin. Though I can always just not book the other two fastpasses and go wherever is available the day of. Still pondering logistics of my entire vacation haha.

What rides do you normally book with your first 3 fast passes at Epcot? What rides are usually available as same-day 4th?

We were just there in March, depends on who’s with you, we had 4 & 5 so lots of height restrictions. But we did FP frozen the line was 95 min wait and we got on in 10!
With adults we FP Soarin, and test track

The comment was that the competition at 9am for FP+ is not yet too difficult. This would allow for multiple tier one rides.

What do y'all think? Pro's? Cons?

Yes, there is less competition so if you want to grab a late afternoon tier 1, that works well. My experience with this (YMMV) is that there's not yet the type of switching things around that allows you to get really good times yet. Kind of like searching for FPs a week out verses day off, I have found afternoon to be the sweet spot for FPs. I refreshed and refreshed yesterday morning and the the same FP times just kept coming up again and again. By afternoon every refresh is different.

I kind of feel like the quest to say you got 20 FPs a day is just bragging rights really. Other than a few rides (which you aren't getting at 9:30 day of) you don't need FPs at 9 in the morning. For the way we tour, doing our 3 prebooked and then getting more for as many of the rides after works for us. But others your differently - to each their own.

Which is better for rope drop - TT or Soarin in term of shorter wait time?

We tried to RD TT yesterday and it turned into a hot mess in part because we got a later start than planned and in part because capacity changed significantly. TT went from 25 to 65 minutes in one jump and then came back down to 25 half an hour later and then ramped back up to 60 by 10. If you're not at the front of the pack I would skip TT and do Soarin. Although even Soarin was a little crazy. It was 45 mins by 9:30 and then they opened to the third theater and it stopped to 15. That said, we got two sets of FPs for TT for a party of 5 late in the day and Soarin was down to 10 minutes in the last half hour of regular park time so RD during slower times when there are capacity changed may actually be a bad plan for those rides.

We will use the FP on FEA because its a long haul back to that ride at rope drop and those with pre-park opening ADRs at Akershus get the jump on you in the standby line anyway. At rope drop, we will do Test Track and then shoot over to Soarin or try for a Soarin 4th FP. Soarin wait times are the least terrible of the 3 headliner rides IMO. We'll use our other FPs usually on Mission Space and Spaceship Earth.

We do TT, Character Spot, and Spaceship Earth or Nemo one day. Our other Epcot morning we do Frozen only. Then we start trying for FP at our evening park as soon as we tap in for that. We rope drop soarin’ one or both days. Test track seems to break down more than Soarin’ so holding it as a Fastpass makes it easier to come back later if it breaks down or isn’t running first thing.

This trip I only have one Epcot day, and with my mom who hasn't been there in 21 years (!!) so I did FEA, Spaceship Earth, and the Nemo ride. We aren't big Frozen fans but it's a really cute ride I'd like her to see. Otherwise we will do standby for TT and Soarin if we can't find them as subsequent FPs. She is also a fearful flyer so we didn't want to FP Soarin in case she decides not to ride it, and then maybe end up not being able to get a FP for another headliner later.

On longer trips I have at least 2 Epcot days if not more, so I mix it up more. I'll do TT, Soarin or FEA as my main, Spaceship Earth always as it's my favorite, and then whatever 3rd FP that catches my eye that day I book.

Test Track, Soarin’ and Frozen seemed to be the only two rides that really needed FastPass+. Refreshing the app constantly sometimes brings up times for some the more popular rides as people will delete them throughout the day.

FEA, Spaceship Earth, and Figment last trip. We were able to get a 4th at Soarin. We did not ride TT because the line was crazy long. We only had one Epcot day. If we have two, I would FP FEA one day and TT on another. Now that they added the new(ish) theater Soarin' seems much easier to get as a 4th.
