For all of you who are watching what you eat or dieting. What do you eat for breakfast and when do you eat it?

I am not following a specific diet. I think I have a pretty well rounded, lower carb diet going on my own. I have trouble with breakfast though. Sometimes at work I will get 1/2 order (probally two eggs worth) and two pieces of bacon... sometimes I will have a granola bar in the AM.

What do you eat? What should I be eating? I don't drink coffee, love OJ but am good about not having it......

Special K? Grape Nuts? Kashi? regular cereal? Keep eating the eggs and bacon??

I am looking for M-F healthy breakfast ideas!

Typically, Kashi Go-Lean cereal with skim milk and a packet of Splenda, and three slices of turkey bacon on the side. I do the bacon in the microwave between a couple of paper towels.

I usually have egg beaters, bacon, and some type of 1 point bread. or kashi go lean crunch with skim milk or some other type of healthy cereal

Kashi Go-Lean, skim milk, blackberries and a little Splenda. I eat this at 7:15 a.m. and then I have a hard boiled egg around 11:00.

i like a little variety but here are some routine breakfasts for me:

high fiber cereal with 1/2 c fat-free or vanilla soy milk
(TJ Hi-protein; raisin bran; kashi go lean crunch)

smoothie made from 1/2 c. lite vanilla yogurt, 1/2 c FF or soy milk and 1 cup frozen berries (i buy berry mixes usuall)

1 cup berries topped with 1/2 c. lite vanilla yogurt and sometimes topped with 1/4 c. LF granola

Vitamuffin (www.vitalicious.com)

Fat free or Kashi blueberry waffle with sugar-free syrup

1/2 c. egg beater omelet with any veggies on hand

I guess I like my carbs in the morning!

I eat an Atkins Advantage bar. It gives me the protein I need and I don't have to worry about being late for work. Most days I keep them in my drawer.

Cheese toast made with 60 calorie 2% milk single one a piece of diet bread and Strawberries with splenda

2 sausage patties, topped with 1 slice American cheese and 2 over-easy eggs.

Just like a sausage egg muffin, without that nasty muffin! ;)

And, you know... the days I miss my sausage/eggs... I really do miss them!

When it comes to breakfast I try not to limit myself to just the traditonal breakfast things. If there is leftover chicken and veggies from dinner the night before and I have time to eat before I leave the house then I will have that. Sometimes I will do cheese and crackers and a piece of fruit. I dont typically have time during the week but bacon and eggs always are good. If you are good about it, you can hard boil your eggs before had and use the pre cooked bacon, that saves time in the morning.

But if I am going to have a traditional breakfast, I will usually do something like this:

1/2 a bowl of ceral with fat free lactose free milk before I leave the house and then will have fatfree yogurt as a snack later at work.

Granola bar while on the road driving (this is my plan when Im running extra late for work) and yogurt at work.

Oatmeal at home and almonds or other nuts as a snack at work.

a 6 oz cup of lite yogurt (sometimes I will add fruit or if I need a crunch some high fiber cereal)

I try to exercise in the morning and when I do I make a protein powder drink and have that at home - yogurt at work about 8:00
and then at my 10:am break, usally have an orange.

At Curves there is a post that if you have a protein powder drink withinin 1 hour of exercise that you burn calories 20% more efficiently. I am trying it to see if it helps - I don't have "scientific" proof but I was on a plateau and I have started losing again.

my usual breakfast is raisin bran, coffee & cran juice
When I have blueberries in the house so I add these to my cereal
I do have OJ but thats later in the day
at work i often have a yogurt about 10am

My favorite is browned crumbled hamburger (I make up a batch with some chopped onion early in the week and eat it all week), with 2 fried eggs on top.

Or I'll eat leftover meat from the night before with a slice of cheese and a BB Yogurt.

Or an Atkins Advantage bar with coffee.

AlreadyexcitedGrammy~ Is that power protein supposed to be within one hour before working out or within one hour after working out? I guess before makes sense but you never know! :)

I usually have a couple of eggs (fried, hard boiled, scrambled, whatever), and a couple of slices of bacon.

I have a slice of whole wheat bread (high fiber) and 1 tablespoon of Peanut butter. Then a few hours later I have a snack. Maybe an oz of nuts and 1/4 cup raisins.

It depends on what kind of mood I'm in, I eat a variety of different things for breakfast.

Fresh Strawberries with Strawberry, Oats & Crunchies cereal (no milk, don't like it).

1 low-fat blueberry muffin with a couple of pieces of turkey bacon.

1-egg omelet with cheddar, peppers and healthy choice smoked sausage and a banana.

These are the ones I do most often. :)

Well I usually end up with an atkins bar as I am runiing out the door, or folding laundry etc.

However when I do "fix" something it my typical meals would be

an OsoLow lowcarb banna nut sweet roll w/cream cheese, strawberries and 2 slices of bacon

2 egg veggie omlette w/ low carb bread, low carb jam and 2 sausage links,

Atkins or Keto cereal, unsweetened soymilk, strawberries

Keto hot hazelnut cereal, bacon or sausage.

string cheese wrapped in ham slices

I eat a banana and one tablespoon of peanut butter most days. Other days I eat two scrambled eggs and a piece of whole wheat toast.

I go to the gym M-F in the morning and between trying to get ready and trying to get 2 childrens ready, I don't have time to cook. So I grab either a slim fast or Atkins low carb shake and drink it on the way to the gym. It was suggested by my trainer to drink a protein shake before working out, but I couldn't find anything to mix it with that I liked. Then after reading the labels of the slim fast shakes, I relized I was getting the same amount of protein that I would be getting with the powder protein...and it doesn't taste as terrible as the powder.

I usually have either a low-fat blueberry muffin, a banana, or a single serving box of cereal without milk. I used to not eat breakfast at all but now that I'm used to it, I miss it quite a lot if I don't.
