What do you eat at Yakitori and Mexican counter service?

Sometimes it can be so hit-or-miss when it comes to having good food.

We tried Yakitori (counter service at Japan) for the first time last trip. Had the main featured meal which was chicken teriaki kabobs and some kind of beef dish. I also tried miso soup because I've always been curious as to what it is like. Well, we liked the chicken okay and the beef was alright but I think we were just not in the mood to have it. We would have liked something with veggies too. I didn't like the soup, but I don't think it was because it was poorly done, just I guess I had an idea of what it would be like and it was not at all what I imagined. Anyway we would still like to try this place again but need some suggestions.

Also for Mexican counter service, we've been here a few times and sometimes liked it, sometimes not so much. I just can't remember what was good.

Anybody have a favorite dish to suggest?

At Yakitori House we always get the Kushi Yaki, the 3 skewers of Beef, Chicken and Shrimp. Delicious and when split between a few people makes a great mid-afternoon snack. In Mexico we always get the nachos at Cantina de San Angel. This has proved to be large enough for a dinner for more than one person.

Thanks for the responses idontknow and Hollymom1229. idontknow, it's good to know that the sushi is good at Yakitori. I comtemplated having it, but somehow I felt leery of ordering sushi from counter service. Next time I'll give it a try. Hollymom1229, the kushi yaki sounds more like what we should have ordered last time. Looks like a good one to try next time too.

Cantina de San Angel is probably our favorite place for a quick & cheap meal at WDW. Our food is always great! We frequently end up eating here twice on some of our longer trips. Our 2 favorite meals there are the Plato Combinacion & the Tacos al Carbon. Make sure you get a couple of hot churros for dessert as well. ;)

Hope this helps!:D
