What do you do with your coats?

We finally have our March break trip to the World booked! :cool1:

We've never gone this time of the year and I'm wondering what we do with our coats, hats, mitts, etc. once we get to the airport. Do you leave them in your vehicle and freeze as you go from the parking lot to the terminal? Or do you rent a locker in the airport and store your stuff in there (there are 6 of us which would mean a lot of winter clothes!)

We're flying from the Syracuse airport for the first time. Any suggestions would be really helpful!

TIA :goodvibes

usually leave it all in trunk, or if it is really cold drop everybody off curbside with luggage and then park car with everyones coats. Only one person freezes. (you can draw straws for that one lol)

Dad drops us all off at the airport, goes to park and pay and heated van takes him to door of airport. There we are waiting in airline check-in.

Thanks for the info.!
I'll go break it to DH that he's dropping us off and then parking the van! :rotfl:

The long term parking lots usually have a shuttle that comes right to your car to pick you up - so we have heavy sweaters on and grab our luggage and get right into the heated van. We haven't ever had to wait for the shuttle yet!

we just left them in the car, and had sweatshirts on. we weren't freezig and we went in Jan 2008. Tell DH to run fast! maybe he should start running on a treadmill to work up the endurance?

We leave everything in the truck. If you are flying out of Syracuse make sure when you cross the border to stay to the right hand lane when going through US customs (not the bus lane though)- it breaks into 2-3 more lines so you go through quicker! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip! We've never flown out of Syracuse and dh is quite nervous about finding it ok.

How does the shuttle know you need it? Do you have to phone them like the Park 'N' Fly in Toronto?

We recently returned from Ft Myers, and boy it was COLD when we returned.

DH did the run to the car, but we had our coats so it wasn't a problem. We just left the side pocket of the suitcases empty. We wore the coats on the plane and carried them to the baggage. Once we got our bags we stuffed them in the empty side pocket. Same thing on the return.

DS left her coat in the car and it was frozen!

Up until now, we've always left our coats in the trunk. However, a friend pointed out we may want to pay the couple of dollars at the Ottawa airport for a locker - and this way our coats will be toasty warm on arrival. Hum, I should go look into that now!!

It's a twenty yard dash to the cab and a ten yard dash from the cab to the airport. Who's wearing a coat?

We leave our coats at home and dress in layers to the airport -- we get a limo, so that we won't have to dig our car out of the airport parking lot or dig out our driveway to return it (worked out great last year -- we had a snowstorm the night before departing, and only had to shovel enough to get our luggage to the limo) Myself, I'm wearing a tank top, turtleneck, sweater, and down vest -- all of which I'll wear at one time or another on those chilly Orlando nights.
