Probably a silly question but I was just reading about the souvenirs you buy and pins was certainly one of the most common- what do you do with them when you get them home-

TIA, Jen

Hi, like the old saying goes there are no silly questions, there are probably though a million different answers ;) I am not into trading my pins, I only collect Lady & the Tramp and Disney Resort & Chef Mickey related pins. I have them displayed in frames that are sort of like "shadow box" frames like you would display a medal in, you know what I mean ?

Mine are on a lanyard right now, but one of my projects for after I finish the WDW 2007 scrapbook is to make a shadowbox display of them. I don't trade, either. I just buy resort and ride pins.

I haven't done anything with mine yet, but I was thinking of getting a small piece of cork board (8 1/2 x 11 maybe) and sticking them into it and framing it.

I covered a corkboard in dd's room with Tink fabric, and they are all in there, with her lanyards also hanging on there too.. then when we get ready to go to WDW she just pulls off the ones that she wants to take to trade (after discussing it with me of course! LOL ) The rest of the "special" pins stay home where they are safe! ;)
I can post a pic if i can find it - be back!

Ok, here it is -- but it has a lot more pins on it now! I will be doing a large corkboard for her soon, since we are doing 3 trips this year! LOL

I cut the backs off and use them as embellishments in my trip scrapbook.

i collect them and put them in my pin books by category or subject
1 for each park
1 for complete sets
1 for baseball themed ones
i also trade for ones that I really want

After puying pins over many trips and having them sit on my bureau in bags :confused3, I finally decided to do something with them and bought some pin books. I now have them in pin books sorted by category so that I can actually look at them.

A Few Years Back I Had A Friend Make Me A Coffee Table With A Glass Top And 2 Drawers. I Have Over 150 Pins In The Top Drawer Which Shows Thru The Gass Top. I Have Them Laid On A Piece Of Black Velvet In That Drawer But May Get Some Cork To Stick Them Into To Keep Them From Shifting When I Open The Drawer.

I haven't done it yet, but I have wanted to make one of those 'French Memo Boards' using the pins where the ribbons cross, instead of a button. I haven't actually figured out the logistics of it, but I DO think it is possible and could be very cute. (If someone decides to do this or has already done it, let me know how it went, okay?) :goodvibes

My daughter put hers all over her Disney backpack - they look great. She also has a bunch on the front of her denim jacket.

My only thing with putting them on backpacks/ clothes is unless you get the locking backs - you are taking a huge risk.. those black mickey head backs stink!! They fall off constantly! My fav tink pin fell off my pocketbook several times, i was just lucky enough to find it! Even off the lanyards, my pins come off.. So we leave the good stuff alone.. Again, unless you get the locking backs.

I've got 1/2"x18"x12" pieces of styrofoam that I spray painted silver, then stuck on the wall next to my computer that I stick my Donald Duck pins into. Then just above them I have an old antique cardboard cutout of Donald (about 12" tall) where he's gazing upward, but pointing downward. He's got a big grin on his face and it looks like he's pointing down at his pins showing them to somebody. On that same wall I have a 'Our Disney Vacation' picture frame with some family Disney photos, a WDW calendar, and then a bookshelf full of Disney stuff. On the other two walls I have the big throw of the castle hanging and a painting of the castle that I bought at the 'World of Disney Store' so it all blends together. My computer room is done completely in Disney.

aubriee - how did you stick those pieces of styrofoam to your walls? I have some larger pieces that i have been saving , and i was going to cover with fabric, and use them for pins in my kitchen ( i have a Disney Cruise theme kitchen) but i didn't know what to use to hold them to the wall.. i thought about backing them with a thin piece of plywood or something, or i didn't know if that foam tape stuff would work...
