What do you do with pin collections for the kids?

I'm interested in hearing suggestions for alternative ways to carry pins other than lanyards for the kids as well as suggestions on how to display them at home.
My girls are 10 and 6 and my younger one got tired of wearing the lanyard around her neck all the time, but both still wanted to have them at the parks everyday to show them off. My older daughter started to get into trading, got two great pins from CM's, so of course she wants them with her all the time for our next trip in June.
Do they stay on backpacks? They also began to worry about them falling off, though we got the good pin backs, any tricks to make sure you don't lose them?

IMO,If you want to carry all the pins, I'd use a collecters pin book, and keep it in the back pack. The lanyard (even with only a few pins) will get the traders to notice, and then your kids can get out the collection once a conversation has begun! Good luck, how fun!
