What do you do with Park tickets while in the Park?

Just curious, we are going to Disney with our 4 children 7 and under. Will we need our park tickets accessible once we get in the park? I think I heard you need them to get fast passes but is there any other reason that you need them. I am trying to figure out if we need to buy some type of lanyard to hold them in or not. What do most people do with their tickets while in the park? I remember back in the '70's we wore them pinned to our shirts with a Disney button.:)

Thanks for any help!

DH or I hold the tickets for everyone, we pass them out at the turnstyles and then collect them after we enter the park.

I use a small wallet with two parts, one holds my id, cc'ds and room key the other holds our park tickets. You could also use a lanyard but I don't like having one around my neck :(

You are correct, you will need the park tickets to get FP's. We always send one person to get all the FP's so there is really no need for my kids to carry their own park ticket.

When I have MYW tickets I also make a copy of the back and leave it in the room just in case they get lost.

I found a LIME green "cell phone" baggalini at Tuesday Morning last year.

It has a separate pocket for my cell phone and the other zippered side had pockets where I kept everyone's park tickets. I handed them out to everyone at the entrance and collected them again after everyone was inside the park. When one person went ahead to get fastpasses, they took all the tickets. When they met me again, I got custody of the park tickets AND the fastpasses. I also put my cash, change, debit card and my kids' disney cards.

It worked great and my cell phone never affected my park ticket's "magnetic" strip.

what works best for me is a thin cord lanyard with a plastic zip pocket- i put credit card, park tickets, etc in there for easy access. after traveling with my friend's family this past week, i found that it's much easier and faster if one person holds on to the tickets! the lanyard is neat because you don't have to go searching through a bag, or be worried about them falling out of your pockets. also, you can wear it under your shirt.

I bought a bi-fold wallet that has only clear plastic picture holders in it. I will put all my credit cards, tickets, room keys and money in it. I found it at the dollar store. pixiedust:

Could anyone tell me how big the tickets are? I will be looking for something to hold them in and dont want to get something too small! Thanks!

About the size of a credit card and made of hard plastic like cr cards, so they are not flimsy

Are they all made of plastic? Ot just if you are staying onsite?

No, they are all made of plastic now I'm pretty sure. We stay onsite, and get the plastic room card, but we buy our tickets before we go at our Disney Store at the mall and they are plastic.

The reason I ask is because I just got mine in the mail and they are paper. I ordered them from Undercover Tourist.

Not sure then-maybe they are just plastic if it comes from a Disney retailer(?). I just know that I haven't seen paper in a long time-what do i know?

The only place I wear a front pack is at WDW. I hold everyone's tickets, even DHs. They get them as they are heading in and I take them back right afterwards. They then go in a special pocket in the inside of the front pack. I go get everyone's fastpasses when needed. I also keep our room keys in that pocket.

We have APs, which are paper.

People who need them longer, get lesser quality tickets. :confused3 Good one on Disney's part.

Oh good. I was worried for a second that I got fake tickets or something. We bought non-expiring. You would think they would issue plastic ones for that.

Actually I have had an AP for a few years now and IMHO the paper (or tyvek) tickets are much better and last longer than the plastic. Because they are very sturdy (impossible to rip) but flexible they work better in the turnstyles and the fp machines. The plastic is thick and inflexible and they tend to get stuck.

The Disney Store is the only place to get MYW tickets that are plastic. If you are staying at a WDW Resort you can also have the tickets added to your room key which is also plastic but not as thick as the Disney Store plastic.

FWIW the last two trips when I purchased my dd's MYW tickets at the Disney Store we had so much trouble with the plastic tickets that I went to guest relations and exhanged them for the paper (tyvek) tickets.

All the tickets are credit card size, some are on your room key, some are tyvek and some are plastic. A bit OT but I always make a copy of the back of the ticket for easy replacement if they are lost.

my tickets last year were paper - undercovertourist.com.

I heard that if you buy them from the Disneystores, you can get plastic - which might be worth the little extra you would save going through the internet sites. Sometimes the paper ones don't "read" as well - although I tried not to fold them!

my fanny pack has lots of pockets
on one side in the front is a credit card size zipper pocket - thats where the tickets and fastpasses go
room keys in with the cash

give them to DH! that way when we need fast passes or if they get lost there is at least one thing I am not responsible for! hehe

I do like the paper ones (smaller to store) but have had multiplle problems getting them to scan/read correctly, hhmm.

like the rooom key ones as well

never seen Disney Store ones, I was goiing to buy one for this trip for DS4 so now I wonder??

I agree:confused3

We keep our tickets in DH's wallet.
