What do you do, while your kids are pirating?

I'm thinking about signing my oldest kids (6 & 8) up for the pirate cruise out of the Yacht Club. I think they would love going into Epcot without us.

What would you do during that time (9:30-11:30)? My husband and I will still have our youngest, so I thought about breakfast at Cape May. We've never been, though, so the older kids might feel like they missed out? We've never properly explored the Epcot area resorts, so we could do that? Epcot is out, because this is our departure day.

Our DS did the one at CBR (we were staying there) on our non-park day. DH and I spent that time walking around exploring the resort, then went to the pool.

I would go to breakfast. They get to do something special it shouldn't be a big deal if your youngest also gets to do something special. When our oldest went on the YC cruise we were staying at BC so we hung out, hit the arcade, took the boys to the pool. When he did the one at GF we took the twins to breakfast at Kona Café.

If you didn't want to do breakfast there is a fun arcade at BC or you could rent a Surrey bike and ride around the boardwalk. There is also mini golf within walking distance.

Definitely have breakfast. The last time our kids did the pirate cruise, we went to Kouzzina (while it was still open) and had a wonderful adults only breakfast. Since you will have your youngest with you, I think Cape May is a great idea. If you are worried the older kids may feel like they missed out, Captain's Grille has a good breakfast too. You can have the buffet or order a la carte off the menu.

Sure the youngest gets to have a different breakfast. But, the older two get to do something the younger one doesn't get to do. Seems fair to me.

Toss in a bloody mary for me and it's win win!

Our kids and my nephew went from POR. My brother and I had breakfast, walked around the resort and read books in the sun by the pool. It was a nice quiet break.

My kids love CBR, but I grew up spending school breaks in the Caribbean, so it's just not the same for me. ;)

Thank you! We will probably stay at Port Orleans next trip and just hang out at the resort while they do that cruise. I could spend all day there!

I just saw your replies! Thank you! I completely agree that it seems perfectly fair and decided to go with Cape May for the little one. My older kids are real sweet, so I wasn't too worried, but everything is new to them and they want to experience it all.

And thanks for the BC (arcade, mini golf) info, Dis703. We always try to walk quickly past those resorts because of the awesome pool ;) but we do need to explore them more.

Surrey bikes look so fun! I have never seen someone not having a good time on one.
I like them at the campground or the wilderness lodge. While pretty at the boardwalk area... those bridges over the water can be steep for younger peddlers.

I can't wait to stay at the Wilderness Lodge (one day)! We were going to on our last trip, but canceled because of the construction.

You can play billiards in the Drawing Room in the Beach Club Villas building while your youngest watches cartoons. Or you can explore the shops at the Boardwalk if you haven't done that yet. You can take your youngest over to the playground at the Boardwalk while you relax. Two hours goes quickly. :)

My youngest daughter did the YC pirate cruise twice; but it's been serveral years back. The first time, we did a quick scoot into Hollywood Studios to do a couple rides she would not enjoy. The second time, we hung out taking photos and video of the kids cruising and did some binocular viewing with the fixed ones there on the dock. It was hilarious to watch the little ones chasing Captain Stinky Feet the pirate. He speeds around with one bare foot sticking up out of his jet ski. So funny and cute if they still do that.
