We'll be there soon....12 days :yay: and I know it will be waiting in some lines.
While waiting we usually do a few different things:

- Chat with folks around us about where they are from, where they are staying, what's been going on for them at WDW

- Play the alphabet game...go from A to Z naming something related to "disney", or "food", or "vacation", etc.

- Play I-Spy in the queue areas: They are usually so full of detail!

I go into my "LINE" mode. My brain takes me to another place. I developed this when my kids were young and I carried them all over the parks and in lines.
Actually talking to other people makes the time go by much faster. The one line I won't go into though is the one for Soarin. I see to much potential for arguments when people can just walk in front of you because there is no roped off areas. Don't even want to take that chance/

I look for hidden mickeys and enjoy all the details in the process.

We like to look @ all the details, talk about what we've already done & discuss what everyone wants to do next. If we have some nice folks around us, it's really fun to talk about where they're from & what their Disney experiences are. We've met some nice people who've given us Disney tips we didn't know about & also some ideas about non-Disney vacations common to their region of the country & what's really too cool to miss & what's a lot of hype.

We look at the details too. Even if we've been in line before we can usually pick out something we missed the previous time(s).

As far as Soarin' we travel in a group of four and line up shoulder to shoulder so no one can pass through. It seems to work pretty well.

I enjoy looking for the Hidden Mickeys and the detail. The scenery is very nice also. However, when we were there in August, something really cool happened for me.

My favorite ride in Epcot is Test Track, LOVED IT! Anyways, I did the Fastpass thing, then I came back at my time, did the ride, went out, got another Fastpass, then waited in the normal line which was really short and took me about 10 minutes to get there, did the ride, walked out, went into the Fastpass line, did it again and so on. Yeah, some people actually consider me crazy. :P

Look for Hidden Mickey's
Take pictures
Talk to people around us
Talk about what we are going to do next
Be thankful we are there, enjoy one another's company and that we are blessed enough to take a vacation

Chat with my wife and kids. Watch the people in line. Drink water.

I do like the idea of I-spy, or a version of the alphabet game. When we drive, we play the "Going on a picnic alphabet game" in which we take turns. We say "I'm going on a picnic. I'm going to take an apple" (for example). Next, is the same "I'm going on a picnic, I'm going to take an apple and a burrito" and so one. We play a variation "going to the zoo" in which we talk about the animals we're going to see. We may play a Disney version on the way down to Disney next time, with Disney characters.

We have an almost 2 & almost 3 yr. olds. This is our first time with our children being so young. Anyone have any tips on waiting in line with small children. Thanks

We usually go during the off season, so we don't have to plan many "standing in line" activities- many attractions are walkons or very close to it.

When we DO have to wait more than a few minutes, we usually talk to others or just chat with each other. Last month, DD and I practiced her multiplication tables- her "homework" for the trip! We also like to look at all the fun queue details, and look for hidden Mickeys.

ROCK,PAPER,SCISSORS!!! That or the hand slap game. :thumbsup2

Look for Hidden Mickey's, text message people back home, kids are usually checking out CM's to see if they want to pin trade.

Very cool thread!

DH thinks I'm a nut because I talk to people - most of the time he hates that, lol! But I do it anyway.

We look for hidden mickey's, talk, look and talk about the theming, complain about the heat, lol, plan our next action, we sometimes play games like the clapping games, rock paper scissors, play I spy.

I like the name something Disney from A-Z - I'll have to use that!!

Same here, couldn't have said it better myself.

Gripe, moan and complain about all the people in OUR park...give dirty looks, bump people, look for opportunities to skip line...pick pockets, noses and fights...talk loudly and curse a lot on our cell phones, spill stuff on people, smoke and roll around on our heelys...and cause as much general mayhem and misery as possible...

JUST KIDDING! No one had put that yet though :rotfl:

Play Would You Rather, look for Hidden Mickeys, look at the map, talk about things we had seen or will see that day, talk with people around us, play rock, paper scissors, etc etc

Chill with my family also I look at Hidden Mickey's and pray that the line will move so I can hop on the ride :D
