What do you do to raise extra funds for vacations?

DH had been helping a friend (he is a contractor, the friend, not DH) w/ some construction work, so far he had made over $500 and I took on a temporary job for a couple of weeks and made $400. I took the $$ and put it directly into traveler's checks. I have it, its safe and, except in case of an emergency, it is ready for vacation.

I have also cut back on lunches (brown bagging) and sodas (gotta have it, so I buy it at Wal-Mart-- a six pack of 24 oz bottles is $2.50-- rather than spending $1.00 each buying them @ the convience store on my way to work).

We quit smoking.

We both work full time and have no kids, so it is probably easier for us to save than alot of you who have famlies.

We had a disappointing yard sale, but at least we made enough to pay for the kids' one-day one-park passes. The money in the change jar was enough for mine.
