We are planning our wedding for sept next year and are looking to have a dessert party.

What do you do once the dessert party is over??

We dont want to just say goodbye to people at around half nine. Just thought I would ask what everyone else has done or is planning

Thanks

We're not having a wedding, but we're doing a dessert party for our DD's 16th bday.

We planned it on a night that Epcot is having EMH, so after the party we could still have 3 hours of fun!

After our Dessert/Welcome party all 100 of us went back to the Coronodo Springs pool and had a BIG party until 2am. Coronodo Springs is the best pool area because it's in the middle of the resort and away from all the guest rooms, we used the pool, hot tub and played volleyball until 2am. It worked out great because all of our guests stayed at the same resort.
Have fun planning

Keep in mind that if you are going to be in your dress, you have to leave the park once it's over. You are not permitted to walk around the park in your dress and must have an escort walk you out. Also, any guests who do not have EPCOT park tickets will also have to be escorted out.

Ours is on an EMH night too and my sisters and I are joking that we're going to go back to our rooms, change clothes, and go back for EMH. Hmm.....up at 7:00 for dress steaming, wedding, reception, dessert party...........EMH too? Sure, why not!!! :thumbsup2

LOL, Karen, you are too funny!

Anywho, I'll tell you what you do.....   it IS your wedding night after all, haha.:rotfl: :lmao: Seriously, you could stay at Epcot (if you are not in your wedding gown and it is open later), you could have an after-hours cocktail party at your hotel, you can do whatever the heck you want! Just choose what you think YOU will enjoy the most.

As for me, !

We had the same line of thinking.

Our wedding was at 12 and we knew no-one would want to go by 9.45pm. (you know what weddings are like here in the UK!). We were told we wouldn't be able to stay any longer once the fireworks had finished (plus usually the bus is waiting for you and the guide I no doubt wants to go home) but all our guests were staying in villas and needed the bus.

In the end it worked out good for us, we split the bus times for the day as we had such a long time and they picked the guests up in the morning from the villas stayed for 5 hrs and then again in the evening so another 4hrs, it worked out we had a spare 1hr and 1/2 at the end of the evening. So on the spur of the moment after the DP everyone came back to Grand Floridian with us until around half 11 or so (my memory is a little hazy of that time. LOL.)

Needless to say we had a blast  we all went upstairs to the bar and I think the bus got back a little late but we wernt charge.

Where are you staying? are your guests staying on property? that way they could get a taxi, or you could head over to the boardwalk.

We are staying at coronado springs and alot of our family is doing the same. We were thinking of just going back to the hotel bar and staying there for a few drinks and talking. But we were also wondering about our comp hotel night as we are having a custom wedding so not sure if we have to use that the night of the wedding or not.

I know what you mean though as weddings here go on for ages and having to end at half nine seems silly to me

You do not have to use your comp night the night of the wedding, you can use it anytime during your stay.
