What do you do on your non-park days?

I have 2 young kids so our non-park day always includes a character meal at a resort, swim time, and an evening outdoor movie at the resort. When they were younger I took them for the Chip n Dale sing-along. This time we're planning to add mini-golf and DTD time.

We are actually planning a parks-free vacation for next week. It was a very impromptu decision and will be a shorter trip, but we decided to not do parks. Anyway, one day, we are taking our daughter to Tri-Circle D Ranch to ride a pony, go on a wagon ride, and see all of the horses. Then we have lunch at Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom planned (because you don't have to have a park ticket for that one ), afternoon at Animal Kingdom Lodge taking in the sights, and then dinner at Sanaa. We are also setting aside time to really enjoy Downtown Disney, our resort pool, and visiting other resorts for pressed penny hunting. I'm sure a monorail ride on the Epcot monorail will also be done as our family sees that as its own attraction.

We have a non-parks day scheduled in the middle of our trip (2 park days before, 1 non-park day, 2 park days after). We're planning on Chef Mickey's for breakfast (hopefully), then hitting DTD after that.

I LOVE non-park days :) Don't get me wrong, I also love park days, but there is nothing like taking a day off after a few days of park touring to do something relaxing and experience a different side of Disney magic.

The best non-park day we ever had we slept in, went to a breakfast ADR, went shopping/visiting the other WDW resorts, rented a golf cart at FW & explored, went to HDDR for dinner, and went back to our resort to relax & go to sleep early-a fantastic day :goodvibes

What do you like to do on your non-park days?

We said we were going to have one last trip, and we did BBB in DTD, and then an ADR for dinner at Park Fare. Afterwards, me and my youngest ended up in MK so we didnt succeed. lol

We like to rent a boat. We've done this at different resorts: POR and Contemporary. It's very relaxing and you get some nice views.

We plan on doing the Bass Fishing Excursion this fall.

Also, like to play mini-golf and go to water parks.

Downtown Disney, enjoy the pool/resort, Orlando outlet mall, drive over to Tampa or visit other resorts and have dinner at another nice resort on or off property.:thumbsup2

When our child was a toddler, there was no real choice but to be active in the mornings. Parks were always part of that plan.

Now that our daughter is the ripe age of 5 1/2 (and heading to her 11th trip), we have been able to plan a few on-site diversions that exclude the Parks:

1.) Swimming pool.
2.) Downtown Disney / Cirque de Soleil.
3.) Watercrafts (i.e., boats) at either Boardwalk or Bay Lake.

/
Downtown Disney for us, to get shopping done. Mini golf at Winter Summerland. Pool at the resort.

Now this will sound silly, but one of my favorite things to do? Laundry! I love to throw a load or two in while the kids are in the pool and I can just relax nearby. There's something about having more clean clothes than dirty that just puts my mind at ease! And it doesn't feel like housework if I can sit by a resort pool while the clothes are washing!

Our non-park day is usually our arrival day. We arrive around lunch. Sometimes we eat before we get on property to have that 1 last cheap meal!! If we decide to wait til we get on property to eat, we usually go to DTD and grab a bite and walk around a little, then pool time, and resort hop. We like to watch the movies at the resort at night also.

We usually sleep in late, have a late breakfast at the resort, DTD, swim....once we played mini-golf and rented two mouse boats on Bay Lake which was a nice change of pace. Most of the time it's the pool, though.
