What do you do on days out of the parks?

Hi everyone!

My husband and I are taking our trip in May and are getting 5 day PH and are spending 6 full days there. On one of the days, DH is golfing. I know that he will make an early tee time and be back to the room by early afternoon. After that, he will probably be tired and want to sleep for a bit. So I have a day on my own and can't figure out what I want to do.

I was debating about maybe buying a one day pass and going to the park of my choice for the day. But then I was also thinking about maybe going to the GF for some kind of spa treatment. I had also considered maybe going to Downtown Disney or just laying by the pool.

What would you do? Or do you have any other suggestions? It has been a long time since I have been to WDW so there may be things that I don't know about.

Thanks!

What to do with a day out of the parks...

  • Go to the Grand Floridian Spa for some serious pampering
  • Tea at the Grand Floridian
  • Rent a Watermouse
  • Jump on the Monorail and shop and tour the resorts
  • Lay out by the pool and chill...
  • Go to DTD to do some shopping and enjoy a nice lunch
  • Take in a movie at the Stadium Theaters at DTD
  • Go explore the Outlet Malls
  • Check Out Hotels that I may want to stay at in the future
  • Hang Out at AKL for a while and enjoy animal watching (2 and 4 legged)
  • Ask the front desk for a "Hidden Mickey" sheet and search for the Mouse
  • If you've never done it, check out DVC
  • Check out the petting zoo at Fort Wilderness
  • Walk the loop around Friendship Lake, and see what's happening at the Boardwalk.
  • Grab lunch at Beaches and Cream, and hang out in a hammock with a good book
  • Realize that any time at WDW is a great time ;)

Wow HookdonWDW!

That's quite a comprehensive list...I'm impressed! Thank you, I would not have thought of some of those ideas. Now I have to debate about which I would like!

LOL... I hope it helped. As you may have figured out, we've done quite a few "no park days" ! I hope you enjoy whatever you choose to do. We try to have one or two down days during our trips so that we don't come home feeling like we need a vacation to recover from our vacation.

BTW - Welcome to the DIS!princess:

This trip we are going to Discovery Cove on our non WDW day!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc
My kids are soooooooooooo excited (guess I am too!)

Discovery Cove is a "sister" park to Sea World where you can snorkel, and explore sealife and do a swim with dolphins program. It is quite expensive and you have to make ressie a head because they limit the park to 1000 people. I hope it is worth it! People that have gone have ravved about it - so we are very much looking forward to it!
We are headed there 4/13 (2 months from today!) so, I will be sure to post our experience.

HeadintoWDW: I just reread your original post and I would go for a spa "something", shop and lounge by the pool, if it were me!
Sounds like it is just you and DH - so I would relax!
