We're leaving in 12 days and I'm getting so nervous. First time for 2 dd's age 3 1/2 & 7. I know it will be crowded because we're going during NJ week. My question is what are some fun ways to pass the time while waiting in line. I know all you guys must have some good tricks so please share. Thanks.

What do I do in line?-sigh heavily, look at my watch, shift my weight from foot to foot, sigh again, strain to see if the line is moving up front, strain to see how many people are behind us, sigh again, maybe make a couple of clicking noises, sigh again, see if pushing the people ahead of us will actually get us in sooner, sigh again, etc....:jester:

Seriously, there is a lot of theme items along the line that gives you something to look at.

Or you could try "guess who has the body odor"

 :wave2:

I bring cards from our Disney's Trivia game and ask questions to the kids. Other people sometimes join in around us. There's a Pal Mickey you can rent ($8/day or buy) and he tells jokes and plays interactive games.

You'll have a great time! Enjoy!:earsgirl:

We took our 2 ds's in May when they were 7 & almost 3. I was worried about waiting in line too, especially since my oldest is pretty bad ADHD, but it ended up not being a problem. The best advice I can give you is to tour smart so you don't have to wait in line. We ended up avoiding almost all lines by using FastPass and early entry.

When we did wait, it wasn't a problem because there is always a lot going on around you. You are almost always moving and often there are TV's or props around to look at.

One idea I had read here is to take bubbles for them to play with, which we did, but we ended up never using them. I have also heard of taking Game Boys, or you could buy one of the Disney handheld games there, I think it is called Magical Moments or something, but I'm not sure. You could also play word games or something with them.

For the most part, waiting in line at WDW is much more fun than waiting in line at the post office or grocery store and my kids didn't seem to mind much at all. I seriously stressed out before our trip, and the best advice I have is to relax. Everything will work out great!

:D Good question.
I tend to just stand there and either talk to my husband or just stare at the floor. If eye contact is made with someone than I will smile and then look away. I have never been very good at talking with someone I've just mete.

On past trips, I've had some nice conversations with others waiting. Also, lines at Disney mostly have nice themeing and are often indoors and air conditioned. The lines tend to move quickly, and since you're in Disney you can't help but be happy!:D

Since the introduction of Fast Pass, we haven't really had to worry about waiting.

Well...lets see. We talk to the kids about the rides that they've already done and want to do again or not. Where we will go next, or just make up a game to play. I tend to chat with people (even those I don't know) which drives the DH CRAZY! I figure we have SOMETHING in common being that we are DW but you can generally gage someones "chat-a-bility"....after all, you don't want to bother people...just be friendly.
