What do you do for YOU?

Ladies (and gentlemen too) I want to know what you do for yourselves as a special treat or reward and how often?

For example, do you treat yourself to weekly manicures? Or a monthly massage? That sort of thing. And it should be just for you from you. Not like a dinner out with your SO. This is purely and wonderfully selfish. princess:

And if you don't do anything special for yourself, why not? Time? Money? Never thought about it?

This time of year especially when it can be so hectic let's hear what you do for you, numero uno. Maybe I'll get some tempting ideas. ;)

Normally my ME time is when I'm sitting here DIS'ing. BUT this week I'm treating myself to a haircut and pedicure...and if I'm feeling really decadent I might get my brows waxed and fake nails put on.

I like massages every 3 months or so. I wish I could do it monthly, but they are pricey. That is pretty much the only thing I do especially for me. Love to shop though too- now I buy things for the baby instead of myself!

Well, I get manicures every other week, and I have my hair done once a month. I get pedicures about once a month (sometimes more often, sometimes a little less often) and I go to the gym to work out 3-4 times a week when I feel like it.

Recently I went to the spa and had a microdermabrasion, but I wouldn't really consider that to be a relaxation thing as the woman had a piece of sandpaper stuck on the end of a suction cup that was pulling dead skin off my face... :rotfl:

My Disney trips! and these boards!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Nothing. With three kids, a dh who is away only home once or twice a week, and no babysitters, it's sort of hard to get away! :(

I just had to say I love the baby pic! So cute. Look at that face! Love it. :)

And I hear ya about shopping for the baby. My DH will sometimes tell me to go out shopping to relax and buy something for myself. Do I? No. :rolleyes1 It's much more fun to shop for my kids. ;)

Now that ain't right! :sad2: We gotta get you a break now and then. Can you tell the kids while DH is within ear shot :listen: that all you want from Santa is some "mommy alone-time". Maybe he'll hear you, and get it ;) , and grant your wish on one of those times he's home. Well, I'll be wishing that for you... :wizard:

I get my hair done once a month - cut, colored, highlighted - at a pricey salon. It is really the ONLY thing I do for ME so I splurge!

I don't do anything on a regular weekly or monthly basis. But in the summer I get pedicures about twice a month. I usually meet the girls once a month for drinks, oh I mean dinner! Once or twice a month I meet a friend for coffee at Starbucks. But mainly DH is good about coming home and seeing the look in my eyes and saying "I've got the kids, you get in the bath with a book and a glass of wine!" That is the best! :flower:

Every week I get together with a group of close friends for coffee - we're all pretty good about leaving "our" morning free.

My hair gets cut and colored every 6 weeks or so but I don't consider that a luxury, more like general maintenance. I do enjoy the occasional facial and everyone knows to get me gift certificates for special occasions. During the summer I'll get pedicures, but I let them slide over the winter.

I was thinking of doing this soon - what did you think? Were you happy with the results?

I was getting regular pedicures over the summer. But, I don't know how often I'll keep that up now. I did just go shopping the other day and bought a ton of new fall clothes. DH and I just spent a week away from the kids, plus a few extra days because of Wilma. I don't think we'll be getting any date nights for awhile now. :rotfl:

Recently joined Curves and have been going 4 times/week
A friend recently gave me a WalkAwayThePounds CD for when I cant take my 1/2hr daily walk outside
This wknd Im taking DS to Cape Cod for my birthday wknd. While there Im having my first massage.
time on the Internet, and time reading
every 3mos I get my haircut then my friend colors it for me
taking my first girls only/solo WDW vacation in March - recently spent a wknd at a friends condo in Maine

Every 3 weeks I go to the salon to get my roots done (I've recently gone blonde, per DH's request). Next week I'm getting a manicure for a wedding we're attending.

Hubby works in Baltimore and commutes home so with 5 kids I take advantage of pockets of time to myself...

In the fall I get a Pumpkin Spice latte from 7-11 when I want. I'm a cheapskate at heart so this is a big splurge for me. lol

I exercise at least once a day while the kids sleep.

I get Netflix movies of my choosing and I watch them on my bed which is a big luxury.

I read or do my nails when our 2yo and 4mo nap.

Gotta make do with what I have.

Sitting on the beach with DH and the kids from right after breakfast until it's time to order dinner is my version of the perfect "me" day. Alas, I only get to do it once or twice a year.

So my "routine" gift to myself is having a cleaning lady every-other Tuesday.

I get my hair cut/colored every 4 weeks but I think that is maintenance and not a me thing. I go for pedicures and eyebrow waxing every 4 weeks as well. Again maintenance. I do go and splurge on shoes so I guess that is a me thing!
