What do you love and hate about your job?

I work in an elementary school and am a Kindergarten Aide and Building Assistant. I absolutely love the kids, but their runny noses gross me out.

I'm a server and I work in retail at a video game store named Babbage's.

What I love about Rubys---the money I can make in a few days work. I only worked three days this past week and I made $209. I typically enjoy working with most of my crew. Some of them really know how to make me laugh.

What I hate about Rubys---the customers who just come in mad, the ones who don't tip for no reason at all or the ones who have no clue how to tip, the gossip among co-workers, not knowing what kind of week I'm going to have financially.

What I like about Babbage's---it's just laid back and really no work at all. I like being in the video game retail industry considering I have a DH who loves video games and that saves me money when I buy him games. It's just a nice job with a really nice crew. There's nothing I don't like really.

I am a chief financial officer and division director for a large public utility district.

What I love about my job is finding solutions to tough problems - all with the help of a staff of wonderful people.

What I hate about my job is that I am appointed by a board of commissioners (5 of them) and they are an elected body. This means that decisions are often made more for political considerations than because it is "the right thing to do".

I'm a stay at home mom who homeschools two kids, dd, almost 9 and ds 6.
It's 24/7 and I wouldn't change it for the world!

Love my job a little to much overtime lately.:earsboy:  :earsgirl: :sunny:

Well my preference in jobs would easily go to being Mrs. Javy Lopez, but since someone beat me to it :p, I decided to work as a legal secretary. Been doin' it for 14 years now. It's an OK job, but it's not my "dream job." I've been seriously considering a career change for a few years now, but haven't made the move. I'd love to go into medicine, but at my age (35), going to medical school isn't necessarily the easiest decision to make. Also thought about going to law school, but only b/c I've been in the field for so long. Although... if I could represent certain major league ball players..... ;)

I am a stay at home mom but I work 20 hrs a week writing reports for a software company. It's nice that I get to work from home but some days it is really hard to get motivated. I used to work for a bank some years ago and I do miss the working with other people and being able to wear suits.....don't miss the heals though.

Officially, I am an Information Security Administration for a large financial services company. In reality, I support the software that secures our mainframes.

I love the work that I do. It is a challenge to implement new processes and make everything work smoothly.

I hate all of the office politics and redtape.

I am a Sales Director for a Publisher.

I like: being able to run my dept the way I want to, being able to hire who I want to, the travel (just enough), the $$$!

Dislike: glass half empty employees that you can never please, gossipers, office politics, the daily stress that goes along with the responsibility of hitting goals and running a dept!

I'm a manager at a local movie theatre in town.

I love the free movies and the atmosphere. It's the best job I've ever had. I love making sure that people have a great movie going experience and sharing the love that I have for movies with others. There is always so much going on it's perfect for my ADD! :)

There are some days that are better than others, but for the most part there really isn't anything I don't love about my job. Well, maybe a few of the customers who complain too much but most of those complaints are fixable!

I'm a waitress in a great family-oriented diner, almost 7 years now (used to be a secretary). 99% of the time I love my job but it's just those few (and far between, thankfully) rude/nasty customers that occasionally take the joy out of it. I love interacting with my customers, and making sure they enjoy their meal/time at the restaurant. I like treating my customers the way I like to be treated when I go out to a restaurant. And I love the money!! :teeth:

I don't like crabby customers, old people who have no patience, people who don't keep their kids under control, non-tippers, and customers who "overstay their welcome" once we've closed. :)

I used to be a restaurant manager, hated it.

I am almost done with my training to be a Claims Rep for a very large national insurance company. Sounds lame, I know. However I think I will really like it. I love cars so that's great. I love people and I think that being able to make their day a little better after they have been in an accident is something I will like!

I am a home care physical therapist.

(Want2liveatWDW, we should talk.)

I like my helping my patients and seeing all parts of the county.

I hate jumping through the Medicare hoops.

I'm a Decorative Artist.
I love the freedom of being self employed, although there is some truth to 'the starving artist' syndrome. Thank goodness for my DH! =0)

I'm a reporter.

I love writing - hate the pay. I also don't exactly love the beat I cover - education has been fun lately, but I've always liked features the best.

Dh and I decided next time we move, I'll get a part-time job and write for me the best of the day. So look for my best seller in a couple years. :teeth:

My official title is Church "Administrator" (it's basically the same as being the church secretary.) I love all of it. I was worried at first, because since it's both a regular church and a campus ministry and because it reaches out to such diverse populations (college students-more liberal ones particularly seem to be members at this church, the homeless, the general community, and AA/NA) it can be a very challenging environment. However, now that I'm actually into the job, it's fun.

i'm a social worker in a nursing home.

love the residents and the fact that everyday is different. i've worked with adults with severe mental illness, disadvantaged kids and in a hospital setting...the elderly are by far my fav clients!

hate the bureacracy of a facility-lack of respect from administration and dumping ground attitude of other departments, 'revenue first' mentality and the medicare/medicaid games.

but, i live with what i do, and the rest of them have to also!

I am a home daycare provider. In addition to my DS8 & DS3, I also care for 4 other children.

I love spending my day with the kids. I love the hugs and kisses they give out "just because". I love how their moods can change in an instant from tears to giggles. I love being able to choose what we do during the day. It would be very difficult for me to go back to a traditional job.

The downside is sometimes they all want/need something at the same time. It can be challenging prioritizing their needs in a split second of time. And, at times they are not very patient when they have to wait. Sometimes 1 child having a bad day or not feeling well can make the rest of us on pins and needles too.

I'm the Assistant Controller for a division of a the largest (non software) US company you can think of (we make light bulbs so we can stay open all night) :p It is 10:45 pm on Sunday, I'm still here at work closing the books for the quarter.
