what do you do before you cruise? diet, hair color, etc.

Great job on the weight loss.....
I am doing atkins too...The only trouble I had was with breakfast...I am not a bacon and eggs person, but then I got these low carb cars...not the atkins ones they are gross. These they sell in your local supermarket and I have to say thet are good. I have very good luck with this diet...the only thing the weight comes back really fast!
Have a great vacation!

I've lost 30 pounds already - Hope to lose 20 more before we go.
I'm walking a lot - Husband likes to walk the deck.

I'll need new clothes - Whooppee!!!

Get your pins in order for trading.

And S M I L E

From what I've read here so far, I'd guess there'll be some great-looking feet on all these ships.

Mareka: Congrats on the 30 lbs! How will you lose 20lbs in 38 days though? Please tell me your secret!

jmlcantwait: What I wouldn't give for bacon and eggs! I'm drooling! Maybe I should try Atkins. I've been doing WW, 3 slices of bacon = 3 points. Not worth it.

Re pedicure: I think I am one of the few women who hates them! I will probably get the toenails done as long as they leave the rest of the feet alone. UGH!:(

Ok Now you have me worried - I have 5 wks thats 4 pounds a week.
I'll have to really push and exercise to do it. Even if I come close I'll be happy.
Tried low fat and low calorie for years. Like a YOYO.

Atkins has worked well. I had to eat a lot of wrods after knocking it for so long.

I'm not hungry in between. I miss bagels and Pizza but otherwise its been good.
Want to do the walk around the deck for times for a pin.

I may make it this time.

Now you've peaked my interest! If you walk four times around the deck you get a pin? is that 4 laps of 4 laps x 4? I'll have to check that out. Let me know what the pin is like 'cause I know you'll do it.
Just did my aerobics, tomorrow pilates. I wish I was younger! I'm determined to make it to 75# by Oct 19. Weighed in today 62.2 so I have 12.8 to go. I know I can, I know I can....

Well I'm not young - I'm 51 this month. But now I have arthritis in my knee.
Last vacation at Boardwalk Villas I spent 3 days in room - couldn't walk. At least we were in 2 bdrm DVC. So I didn't suffer too bad.

But I'm determined not to miss the parks this time.

I read about the pin in....... cruise document at wdwig.com or castawayclub.com. Don't remember. Oh no ! That's going too... HAHA

I want to hop like this again.
:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Lets see:
I'm on an Atkins Diet too. (lost 15lbs in a month :teeth: )
(JlmCantWait, Try Atkins Banana Nut muffin mix.. they are 2 Carbs each if you make them in the small muffin pan, 3 carbs if you make them in the large and they are delicious. I don't like the Carb Bars either)

Get a Pedicure.
Buy new clothes.

Oh yeah! Read DisBoards, every single day of the week. ;)

I decided to lose 100 pounds.
I figured if I was going to gain it on the cruise, I would lose it first.
I started Sept. 4th last year.
I had a year.
It took 4 months.
The secret: (You don't want to hear this...)
Diet and exercise.
Eat less. Walk 3+ miles a day.
I eat what I want but less of it.
I cheat one day a week.

cmraman,
WOW!! You lost 100lbs in 4 months??? I must be reading it wrong. I am doing Weight Watchers and am learning portion control. How have you done maintaining the weight loss? Have yoy Cruised yet, or are you still counting down?

Mareka: My knees crackle whenever I walk. I don't go anywhere without packing a knee support.

CMRAMAN: No fair, I'll bet you're of the male species right???? You guys can drop weight like nothing once you put your mind to it. Don't get discouraged ladies!

Dave from Marietta: I will still walk. I have to do something to combat all I'll be eating. In addition plan on some of the exercise classes they offer.

Tluvs2talk: not only portion control but I now pay close attention to fat content.

and Cindy k: Only read the boards once a day? the closer it gets to cruise time the more often I visit them. :p

Tluvs2talk: Since the first 100 pounds I've managed only 10 more in 8 months. I think my body likes it here. We leave for WDW on 9/12 and cruise on 9/15.

disneydudette1: Yep. Male. I would take issue that it's easy though. I have tried every fad diet from Adkins to Weight Watchers and used Phen-Fen. Nothing worked. I have carried the extra weight since high school (1980 grad) Finally, I figured that I might as well try eating less. I gave up 6-8 trips to McDonald's a week and put the money I saved in a box hoping to save up enough cash to cover tips on the cruise. When I opened the box last month there was $1200 in it. Instead of nibbling a bag of potato chips a day (The $3.29 size bag) I nibble carrots.

Of course, losing 100 pounds is easier if you start out at 370 like I did.

cmraman,
BRAVO!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

You have inspired me! I am also impressed that you have lost 10 more lbs instead of gaining 10lbs. I hope you have a wonderful cruise.. Keep up the great work.

WOW!! What inspirational posts!

I had baby #1 16 months ago and got back to "acceptable for having a baby" and then in June started WW (I am 31 years old). So far I have lost 9 lbs! That's a lot for me, I can wear my pre-baby jean shorts now (just put them on today)! YES!

I love WW because no food is forbidden! I still drink regular Coke and I totally agree about the fast food trips! That was a biggie for me and I think the reason I have been so successful! Now I need to save the $$ I used to spend at Arby's!! What a great idea!

We cruise 10/24 and I would love to lose 10 more by then. But, to do that I really need to start exercising every day! Chasing a toddler around isn't enough! :)

CMRAMAN--I love your thinking, "my body likes it here"! What a terrific attitude!

Susan

Cindy K,
I will try the muffins! The bars I got that taste pretty good
are called carb solutions. The choc mint taste similar to girl scout cookies, and the choc toffee hazelnut are good too!
They get me thru the morning.I made it 3 weeks w/out a break but I have to admit....I needed a break so Saturday we went out for fried clams (I'm from Boston) my husband said "its so fun watching you eat" is that good or bad? Now I can make it another 3 weeks then take another break!- Laurie
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

fear not, fellow cruisers:D
I lost 15 pounds prior to my Jan 02 4 day cruise and worried I would gain some back since I planned to eat all I wanted, whenever I wanted (this included adult beverages too).
I took the stairs to get anywhere while on board ( it was quicker than the elevaters)and DH and I walked around deck 4 4 times every day, and I didn't gain an ounce. And believe me I didn't miss a dessert or afternoon ice cream;) We also had a late afternoon cheese plate from room service every day since we had late seating.
As to the OP's question, I color and cut my hair, I guess I need to get a pedicure too;)

I have been on WW since April- have lost a total of 10lbs but I have lost the same 2 or 3lbs about 9 times!

Anyway, Contrats cmramam! I know any amount of weight loss (lifestyle change) is difficult. But your health is worth every bit of it. My dh can drop weight without hardly thinking out it but I struggle. Oh to have a faster metabolism.

Hi Shellgoodman and Shmoogirl!! Less than 2 days to go!!!:Pinkbounc

I feel so much better that I'm not the only anal person around here with my packing. The grid thing is a good idea. You could get really crazy and do an excel spreadsheet, but I'm not quite that ambitious. :earsgirl:

See you both Saturday!
