Have 12wks, 2 days before our Nov 30th cruise (we leave for the airport on Nov 28th)
Started my diet yesterday, friend colored my hair yesterday -
what do you do to your bod before you cruise?

I start looking for Tinkerbell and her pixie dust! in a desparate attempt to shave years off the ole bod! Seems like I'm always on a diet anyway and I haven't seen my "true" hair color in years!;)

Well, we leave this Saturday (9/7) for our Eastern, and as far as diet, I've just been trying to eat healthier and lighter this week since I know I'll be enjoying all the wonderful food next week!

Much to the amusement of DH, I've had a packing list of all my outfits (if you're a clothes horse like me!!) and accessories for the last two months because it makes packing SO much quicker and easier. You don't have to think -- just put the stuff in the suitcase!

I already had my hair cut a couple of weeks ago and will get my pedicure Thursday before we go. You could go ahead and schedule those kinds of last-minute appointments now and write them on your calendar/planner so you don't have to worry about them. I also did the last of the ironing over Labor Day weekend and cleaned all my jewelry for the trip.

Doing all this stuff makes anticipating the trip that much more fun!:Pinkbounc

I lost about 7 pounds (10 was my goal, didn't make it), so that I could gain some back on the ship! I ended up gaining about 4 back.

The Friday before we left, I visited a spa and had a bikini wax and my eyelashes tinted. Figured that with all that pool time, I didn't want mascara running under my eyes! The wax was a good idea. I didn't have to shave for about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. The eyelash tinting worked fine for me because I have very fair hair/skin, and without mascara my eyes disappear. The tinting doesn't make the lashes any thicker though.

We don't go till 2-1-03,but I have been thinking alot about this....
I know that I am going to go and have my nails done and a pedicure so that my toes look nice.

I am saving the Facial and massage for on the ship.

I do want my haircolored and maybe a few highlights......

I am so excited!!!!

kimtenn,

I have things that I have been buying and putting aside for our trip. We will be getting colder over the next couple months and so I will start sticking things in a suit case in the closet. Won't need the summer stuff in St.louis anymore after October.;)

Happy cruising all!!!!

I like to get a pedicure. Since I'm wearing sandals the whole time I like my feet to look good. If I have time I get a manicure too. I look through my old makeup to see if I need to refill any basics and usually get a new eye or lip color. Also, I get a haircut about 1 1/2 weeks before we go. I want to have some time to get rid of that "just cut" look.

Before any vacation my DD's and I all get:

Manicures
Pedicures
Eye Brow Waxing
Haircuts (and color for me)

new clothes, etc.

We try and go together and make it a "girls day out"

Well, Barb you know we are on the same cruise......
and here it goes....................
Wednesday November 27,
9:00am......apply color to the roots,
9:30am....roll over to the nail table to get nails done,
10:00am....rinse and add foils for highlights....
10:45 roll over get the 'ol toes done.......
11:30....facial for the wrinkles....
12 noon.....glass of wine..........

If this trip wasn't just a last minute quickie trip that turned into a full vacation..............I would have squeezed in LIPO......

Dear BABYJOSIE98,

Note that the ship facials have no extractions, only lotions, creams and massaging. If you are used to extractions, the facial is a big disappointment. I am getting mine before I go -- and it's less expensive!

-- Adrienne : )

To make things easier when I return from the cruise -- and back to reality again....

I cook up a few casseroles and have them in the freezer. Ready to pop out and heat after work. I like to have the first week covered.

Ask a neighbor, relative, or close friend to pick up some essentials for when you return -- milk, bread, etc. -- it's so nice not to have to run right out and pick up those items.

I also had my house fully cleaned while we were away. It was so nice to come home to a shining house -- plus it was one thing I didn't have to worry about doing before we left for our trip.
:D

Adienne,

I do have a great place that I go occasionally for a facial and I love it. So maybe I will go before the cruise. So do you think that I should just do the massage on the ship????

Has anyone tried that new Self tanning service that they are offering now at the Spa???? I do use self tanners, but may be afraid to try something like that???

I think I might try the Cabana massage at Castaway cay?

Oh, One more thing!! Have to get my eye brows done a couple weeks before I go also!!;)

On our last cruise June 2000, I started about 12 weeks out.
Went to the gym every day and worked on my abs by doing 500+ crunches a day and dieting helped me loose 25 pounds and tone up while I was at it.

Now a few days before the cruise I go and get all cleaned up.
Have my nails done (yes ladies me do have manicures & pedicures)
Get a waxing of practically everything. This includes the back shoulders and bikini region. I do enjoy wearing my Speedo.

Then I make sure that all my fine clothes and tuxedo are packed correctly and the its CRUISE TIME!

p.s. I also like to pack a few my little blue friends in case the wife..ya know ;)

I do this too. I am totally anal about packing. I make a grid with the catagories "Shirt, pants, socks, shoes, and accesories" running at the top. Down the side is the day or event and I fill it in. Then I pack off that list. I admit that once I am packed, I don't religiously follow the list on the vacation, but I know I remembered everything that I need!

My husband thinks I need therapy! :)

As far as the OP goes. I make sure my Hair is cut and I always get a pedicure. The biggest choice I have to make is what color to get my nails and toes done that week! They have to match so many outfits! :)

I have sent all of my husband's clothes to the dry cleaners today because he waits last minute for me to iron everything. So since we are leaving on 9/7/02, I went to the dry cleaners, the shoe repair to shine hubby's shoes, and picked up my alterations from the tailor. I had bought some new pants for the cruise but I lost about 15 lbs (Atkins diet) since mid-July. I had gotten some great deals on the pants but then I ended up altering them anyway. So much for a bargain!

I will be the only unmanicured one on the ship I guess. I haven't had a manicure since my 4 yr old was born. I just can't seem to fit it in as they take too long to dry and I end up ruining them anyway.

Kim, see you in 4 days!

Have hair appt for cut & color Wed. prior and I'm all set!

Of course there is also the clothes shopping!

definately have to pack some of those little blue pills - i know exactly what you mean - and im not just leaving it up to DH to remember them
