What do you do at night?

I'll be with a 16yo and 17yo and it seems like options are limited. The parks close at 7 or 8 pm while we're there, so I was just wondering what people do in the evening. I wish Rising Star was open to younger people until 9pm like Pat O'Brien's is. Any ideas that don't require expensive additional tickets?

Check out the meal - golf
Or meal and a movie deal

That will kill evening time for you and the teens

It is a combo ticket that allows a set meal at places in city walk
The other portion of the ticket is either a round of mini golf or a movie

Margraritavile is a kewl place for entertainment besides food there

The coupons do not have to be used the same night

You would be eating somewhere one might and this might work for them for food and golf or movie

I still have my movie coupon from five years ago
I plan to use it on my next trip

If staying onsite, pool time is great fun
Or the poolside movies can help pass time and still entertain a teen

Thanks! I'm sure we will spend a night or two at the pool/hot tub. Poolside movies would definitely be a plus. I'm not big on going out to movies while I'm on vacation. It just feels odd to me. I'm not sure why. Mini golf can be fun if the course is interesting, so that's an idea to check out. Is the course pretty cool?

For night time I like the haunted side because of the way it is lit up
But have down both sides on trips

I have found coupons on line for them
Groupon is where I got my last ticket from

Go to the attraction desk at your deluxe hotel
Ask them for coupons and you will get a variety of them
Some of them are useless for me but some are discounts for city walk stores and eateries

How about Pat O'Brien's Piano Bar? It looks like we could go until 9 at least. Is that fun?

I'm not sure if the music starts before nine but even so , it would be a great place to check out the piano there

You'll see it when you walk in

I'm on the iPhone now but will go to my iMac later and can pull up info on the piano to show you

Bob Marley has a band and music it isn't until 9 that you need the city pass there in order to avoid the cover charge

Rising son is fun but they have a cover charge
Don't know if Thursday's require the city pass there
Last time I did rising star to watch/ listen to the singers was two years back

I think we have the city pass. What is Rising son?

It says: 3-Park Unlimited Universal Ticket This ticket also includes fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days of admission to the paid entertainment venues of Universal CityWalk®. The 14 days are activated on the first day the ticket is used...

Rising star is entertainment from the audience

Sign up and you may be called to sing along with the song you signed up to sing on the stage
Some nights live band other nights recorded background music

Like amateur night on stage

City walk includes the cover charge for this place
Used to be Thursday nights were for the younger set/ under 21 when no liquor is served
I could be off on that though

The parks do close earlier than I would like but I enjoy a late dinner and entertainment in City Walk. My last visit, I spent more evenings at my resort (Portofino) just enjoying the atmosphere. Riding the boats to another resort to explore is also fun. With teens, I'd go for the mini-golf or movie option on a night or two. Just being at City Walk is actually pretty entertaining. There are a lot of stores for the "young and trendy".

The City Walk has a stage where they will have DJ's playing music and some live stuff as well sometimes. Lots of the <21 crowd hangs out around there. And as mentioned, the hotel pools do movies at night.

Not sure how to correctly insert videos but I'm sure bluer will give me a lesson! Anyway, not the best video because I was only focusing on two of my kids but, I'm sure you get the idea of the energy when the dj's are playing.
ETA this was a couple of summers ago. My daughter was into the butt smacking thing! Lol
My kids go to bed at 8 and 9 pm. This was around 12:30 am!

Go back to Diagon Alley when it is dark. It takes on a whole new experience. Gringotts has a much shorter wait time also in the late evening.

Was there last evening. Wait time regular line about 10 minutes. Single rider line about 5 minutes.

That is my plan tonight. I hope I can stay awake.

Will it be dark before closing in October? We plan to stay at the parks until closing and are looking for ideas for AFTER they close, since they close so early, but we will definitely do this is it gets dark while the parks are still open.

Yeah- looks like Swim, ice cream, mini golf and just wander around will work.

What is "above Bubba Gumps"?

Early October or later?
I go in October from the 1 St or 2 nd and stay up to the 15 th

After the first week it will become darker around 6:45 or so

Check the weather sites and check the sunset times for Orlando
That will guide you better than my memory
