We're home now only a week and 1/2 after our latest trip. We went with very good friends and our inlaws...and had a WONDERFUL time. Both our families went on vacation together last year to Disney as well. We are both crazy Disney families (it was easy to convert them :rotfl2:).

Now we are planning some theme nights of our own to "keep the magic alive" and basically give ourselves yet another excuse to talk all Disney, all the time.
We are planning a "Cars" theme night based on the new movie and then another theme night for the new PotC II when it comes out. I'm sure we'll get the kids dressed up & do dinner before or after seeing the movies. My girlfriend is planning the "Cars" theme night and I'm planning the "Pirate" theme night.

Just wondering what others do at home (and I know there are people who must do something ;)) to keep the spirit of the mouse alive at their house when they aren't visiting Disney World.

The joke around our home is that Mommy starts to plan the next trip the day we return, LOL! :cool1: Seriously, that is how we keep it alive....even if the next trip is far away, it is never to early to get that binder out and start planning the next trip! We are also lucky to live near Disneyland, so of course, we take trips there often, even if just for a few hours, to get "a fix!"

We are always planning our next trip too. We play lots of Disney board games, look through our photos and momentos and talk about what we would like to do next time. Oh and here's an odd one for you, but whenever I watch the weather channel I'm brought back to WDW because that's the only station we watch while at WDW :rotfl: :rotfl: I rarely watch it at home, but when I do I am instantly reminded of WDW.

We have Tivo and it is hooked up through our wireless network, which means we can access Live365 through the connection. We listen to Sorcerer Radio and Parkhopper Radio all the time!

We collect the music that is played at Disney from the soundtracks of Spectromagic and Wishes to even the soundtrack of the Festival of the Lion King. We listen to these frequently (OK, I'll admit it, we listen to them daily).

Today I went to a website that someone here suggested and we listened to the monorail recording over and over. "Please stay clear of the doors, por favor............."

We listen to Disney music in the car and music from the parks over the internet while at home. We play Disney trivial pursuit, watch Travel Channel specials about WDW and play the "would you rather game" disney style whenever we go out to eat and are waiting for our food to arrive. :cheer2:

It seems now that we caught the WDW bug, planning a trip (or two, or three) is always happening. Right now we've been re-reading the Birnbaum's DL book for our first DL trip--less than 3 weeks. We're constantly talking about our free dining in August at WDW, and there are only a few more weeks until I can book our ADRs for our Christmas trip.

In addition to all that planning, we've managed to keep the magic alive for the past 2 1/2 years since our first trip by listening to LOTS of Disney CDs, watching our vacation videos, surfing these boards ALL THE TIME :) and discussing our favorite topic with everyone we know that enjoys Disney. I'm always on the lookout for antenna toppers from WDW--they just make me smile.

We keep the magic alive by planning our Disney family room.
We have been finishing the basement & the painters should be done next weekend. We will have a Disney family room down there, complete with a Nemo bathroom.

It's being painted in the Mickey colors from Home Depot & we purchased a Mickey door & Nemo door from Home Depot.

We are decorating with things like the Mickey coffee table, end table, pillows, blankets, doormats, etc. from Disneyshopping.com.

We just returned last weekend from 8 nights/ 9 days at CBR.

DH owns a frame store & we had 3 posters made at the KODAK FILM LABS in Epcot. He is going to frame those. We also had a poster made of our family on the Dinosaur ride. He'll frame that too.

We also bought the 50th Celebration BIG FIG set at the Magic Kingdom. That's going to go in the room.

We had a wall of shelves built into the room where I am going to place all of our snow globes, Disney pic. frames, etc.

So the magic is really alive in our house!! Planning where everything will go in the room is a lot of fun!! We're going to order the carpeting & couch next week!

***Also busy planning our August trip!! :cool1:

I have a ton of park music on my computer (the link is below), so I listen to it while I'm on the computer (even at work) and that really helps keep me in the mood.

Replay past trips that I have on video tape (am converting these to dvd).

Get the lastest books, such as the Imagineering book for EPCOT.

What fun! Unfortunately, for me, peer pressure would win! LOL My family would ship me off to the funny farm! I am waiting for my parents, and my sib to go next Feb before I let them know how we have fully embraced the Magic! pixiedust:

We try to keep most of our Magic understated! We have Mickey glasses, 3 of the HUGE mugs that we use every day, and I just bought a set of Patriotic Mickey sheets! :) We love to watch anything about WDW on tv, listen to live365 every day, and have planned one trip in Sept already, and are planning our anniv trip next year.

We usually always have 2 trips in the planning at one time so that way as soon as we get home we get into more planning of the second trip. We have to always have a trip in the making. We also watch alot of our past trip video's. We have alot of Disney park music so we listen to that all the time. We talk about it alot too. There are about 30 of us in the family that are actually real WDW freaks so it's real easy to get into a big conversation about it. There's always one of us that has a trip close by, if we are not going together.

We start planning our next trip the minute we get home. We actually keep the magic alive by watching disney movies on a regular basis, our house has lots of mickey and tink things in the decorating, and of course I got the bug so bad I went and got a job at The Disney Store.... :wizard:

The cars theme is a great idea... I also like the idea of planning for your next trip. What I would do is have a scrapbooking get together w/ ur pictures....
:cool1:

like many of you, we are always planning a trip. Our next one is just 2 weeks away. We use our resort mugs and glasses constantly, watch movies and disney specials and enjoy the art and mementos that we have collected. We also use napkins from the parks. We tend to pull too many out when we are eating and started saving the extras. I started bringing them home and now every trip we re stock! In two weeks we will get more and make them last until we return at Christmas.

I do not have kids, but I want to come to the cars party!!!! Sounds like a blast!
