Do you pack? Do you clean your house?

I'm feeling all at once overwhelmed and excited and lazy. I'm sitting here DISing when my house could use some TLC and empty suitcases lay around.

I planned and planned for months and now, have analysis paralysis. What should I do? LOL.

try to get out of work?

We leave on Wednesday at 4 am. I just finished the details of who will take care of the dogs. My DH already has his clothes ready to pack...he's been counting down the days. I will pack us up tomorrow morning. As for the house, my DD and family live with us, so I will put clean sheets on the bed tomorrow. Usually don't pack until the night before we leave.

Maybe start by doing the laundry. That usually gets me up and moving. As I wash something that will go with me, I pack it. I must have a clean house before leaving on a trip. I can't imagine coming home to a mess. It is tough enough having to come home. And if I were coming home to housework, it would make it that much more worse. Find something small to do that we get your engines going.

I'm 25 days away and am already starting to feel like I should be doing something. So....I started my list for Garden Grocer.

Since I'm not hosting Thanksgiving this year, I can put all of our clothes out the week before, as I wash. It makes packing less stressful. Although, I can't put anything into the suitcase until the night before because I usually forget what I've packed and what I haven't. :lmao:

This year we have printed out a complete itinerary for the whole family and every time we get together we update it in some way. Keeps the excitment going!:yay:

A week out, I usually clean my house from top to bottom as a just in case. Then two days before I do laundry to ensure it is all done in time to be packed. The night before I pack everything up. If we do it too early, our pooch gets upset. Although when he realizes he is going to grandma's house, he is usually happy as a clam!

The same thing I do 4 nights before a trip, and 3 nights before, 2 nights before and sometimes even 1 night before:

Think to myself, "Gee, I really should start packing."

I would pack the suitcases first and then I would definetely clean the house before you go to Disney. This way when you get back the house is basically clean and you get to slowly get back into the swing of things when you get back.

I would start packing and get the laundry done. You may need some of the cloths for the trip.I agree with Rania coming home to a clean house is wonderful.

I popped a gut when I read this. THIS is probably closer to reality for us. :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 We leave 11/30...so I have put up all four Christmas trees, and other decorations. Tonight I was calling Tiffany Towncars to make a reservation...wouldn't answer so I left a message. I am asking DH to get his camera equipment ready. I am marking a big "X" on the calendar each day at work. I will go to Wally World this weekend to get a few things we need. Will check the weather right after Thanksgiving and pack accordingly. I hope everyone has a great trip!! :santa:

Start the Happy dance!

I double check on things... Flight Itinerary, making sure the departure times didn't change. I check the Disney Parks site and become familiar with any schedule changes & operation updates on attractions. Make sure Camera and video camera are fully charged before packing.

Have Fun!

5 days? That's prime "last minute shopping" time for us. Have a great trip - these last days are going to fly by. :goodvibes

I'm great at planning our itinerary at least 1-3 months ahead of our trip, but housework is usually not a priority right before a trip as long as I've run the dishwasher, taken out the garbage, etc. I do laundry 1-2 days prior and pack the entire day before our trip with a short break to take the dog to the boarder.

Start planning my next trip since I will have done everyhting that is needed to be done for the current trip:rotfl2: Susan

I purchase things locally, which may be cheaper or easier to find back home. I don't want to spend vacation time looking for items that I need or want, when I could have found them easily before I left. Examples might be sunscreen, poncho's, snacks you can pull out in long lines to quit the troops...
