I hate the takeoff. I feel like we will never get off the ground and then the feeling until we level out. :crazy2: What is the worst part for you?

I'll second that! I HATE take off's! I HATE the feeling in my stomach! YUCK! I hold my Fiance' so tight I leave nail marks in his skin. Once the plane level's out, I'm fine.

I Gosh, how could I forget..............I HATE Turbulence too!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate arriving at the airport 2 hours early and then waiting and waiting for the flight, then having the person kick the back of your seat the WHOLE ride!

People who don't fly often and dont have a clue. They don't have the right ID, or they don't have it out, and hold up the entire line hunting for it. Then they walk six abreast so you can't pass them. Or the people who STAND on the left side of the moving walkways and won't move to the right, even though it SAYS STAND RIGHT, WALK LEFT.

The people who bring too much stuff on with them. People who can't manage their own luggage and expect someone to help them. People who whack you in the head with their bags because they have too many as they go down the aisles, and it REALLY makes me angry that the gate agents let them carry all that crap on! people with kids who RUSH to preboard, then hold up everyone getting off becuase they want to be first off, even though they have a gazillion things to deal with.

People who put their seat all the way into your lap just at the beginning of meal service. People who kick your sat the entire trip. People who let their kids stand up and drool all over the seat back and cough or sneeze their bugger faces at you.

People who BATHE in perfume, reek of stale smoke, or have BO.

People who have seats in the back of the plane and put their roll-on in the first overhead they come to.

People with assigned middle seats who take the aisle seat and then get pissy with you about moving.

People who can't fit into their own space and expect to raise the armrest to take half of the seat you paid for as well.

I could go on, but you get the picture. I don't mind anything about flying, it's the other passengers that get me going.

I hate flying. Period. I have motion sickness.

Ducklite, I agree with everything you said! I now understand why my boss will only fly first class! For several years, he's given us frequent flyer miles to use (and we get f/c seats) and that eliminates a whole lot of those complaints!!!!!!!!!

Missing connections and sitting in airports all day waiting to get on another.

Airlines that give away your seats when they know you are on an incoming plane and will actually be there before takeoff.

DELTA airlines.

I can put up with most things once on the plane, I am just happy to be actually getting to my destination.

My first response was to agree with shatzjsl. I cannot stand take-offs (although descending/landings don't bother me) and I can't stand the climb until we level off. It never used to bother me as a kid and I don't know what or when it changed exactly.

Wow ducklite! You really thought that one out and you said things that I wouldn't have thought of right away. I'll just ditto what you said!! ;)

Oh well, there is always the solitude of the car...

Personally, I like flying.

I also get motion sickness and always hated flying because of the pressure changes and nausea. Every time I flew, no matter how short the flight, I ended up with a sick migraine. UGH! The last time I took sudafed and it was the easiest flight I've ever had, and that was even having two small children with me.

Dh and I had several talks with our children before flying - they had to stay seated (with the seatbelt on), they could not kick the seats, run the aisles, or talk loudly. My younger DD would be the "seat kicker" and we purposely chose seats where she sat behind me and beside DH. Overall, I thought my children did very well (and we even got compliments from some other passengers). I've been on too many planes with screaming kids who kicked the back of my seat.

My biggest pet peeve about passengers - guys who get a little tipsy at the bar, have a couple on the plane, and then try to make a date with the flight attendant. Not so obnoxious that it's like an episode of "airline" but just enough to be annoying to everyone around. :earboy2:

I hate the part where it leaves the ground! Xanax, did I hear Xanax - it's the only way I can fly!

Pretty much from the time you board the plane, to the time you land (I'm a big scaredy cat who doesn't fly - we drive :) ). I've flown a couple of times but that was in '91 and it was only from RDU to JAX and back (twice).

Yowzers, Ducklite - "I love mankind, it's people I can't stand." You really hit the nail on the head, though. My response was going to be "the airport."

I hate the feeling that the wings might fall off, the engines catch on fire, a bird gets sucked into the fans, and anything else that can happen! That is why I load myself up on Xanax and liquor!

ooooh-the landing. I'm always afraid they're going to get a flat tire! :scared:

People who put thier seats back and sit in my lap when we are all already squished.

Kids that kick or pull back on my seat alot.

Other than that, just the boredom

*Sitting for hours waiting for a flight in those bus station seats.

*Being jammed into seats closer to strangers than I'd ever choose. Speaking of buses, the seats are a lot better than airline seats.

*The lack of good customer service and the general feeling of apathy I notice from many airline employees.

*The way they keep changing times and aircraft after you book a flight and then don't even bother to tell you until a month later.

The only thing I like about flying is that it gets you there quickly. I need to make friends with someone who has a private jet so I can avoid all the headaches of commercial flying!

my seatback being kicked
crying babies
turbulence
the stuffiness and the recycled air in the cabin
the bathrooms
boredom...i'm looking at my watch constantly

BUT....it's only a little over 2 hours to fly as opposed to 17 hours of driving, so i endure it. :worried:
