What Do You Collect?

I collect Disney pins - only certain ones to keep the collection a little manageable. I collect Stitch in costumes, Wall-E, Up! and Star Wars.

I used to collect Star Wars toys and have a ton from the 1990-2000's and a nice collection of vintage figures too.

My husband would say that I collect lululemon clothes but that is a whole different story :rotfl:

Christmas snowglobes, primitive/antique Santas, nativity scenes. I also have a collection of walking sticks. Almost forgot the mermaids, they are a recent endeavor and I love seeing all the mermaids and mermen out there.

I collect Disney pins; Tinker Bell, Minnie and park and ride pins for the Disney parks I have been to. I also collect Disney Christmas orniments. Aside from Disney items I also collect programmes from London West End musicals that I have seen, I have lots of those. I also collect $1 chips from Las Vegas casinos. I need to get the newer ones though!

I collect Christmas ornaments from the different places we have travelled over the years. It is a fun "trip down memory lane" when it is time to trim the tree.

I used to collect matchbooks from restaurants, but because most people don't smoke anymore (and that is a good thing!) I haven't been able to keep this up. Oh and wine corks....:rolleyes1

karenos;)

I collect playbills too! I have a pretty big collection, my favorite of which is the original cast of "Into the Woods" on Broadway signed by most of the cast.

Oh yay! :thumbsup2
how do you have them? Hanging up or in a book?

I'm looking at mine now and I think my favorite my "A Steady Rain" one signed by Hugh Jackman. Mainly because I love Hugh :lovestruc

I'm such a kid at heart. My main collection is vintage Care Bears. I also collect collector Barbies, My Little Ponys, AGs, Betty Spaghettys, CPKs, Tys, and Monster High dolls. I have a large collection of stuffed animals and magazines, as well as thousands of books. And of course, Disney themed items. :goodvibes I'll also be inheriting a great collection of presidental pins and buttons.

I collect art; I'm partial to contemporary Russian, specifically cubism. My favorite piece is an original Krasysknsky.

Crayola crayons. I have all kinds of different boxes from the 1930's to the 1990's. One of my holy grails was the discontinued "flesh" color. I did end up with some boxes that contained it, then, my husband was cleaning out a machine shed for a farmer he worked for. In the dirt was a container with about 5 flesh crayons, only.

I got my oldest ones free. I wrote in to Country magazine for the section where people write in what they were looking for. I said I was looking for the old crayons. A few wrote me with some they would sell, but most just sent me their crayons. It was fun while I was overdue with DD in 1998 to get letters and crayons in the mail.

Ballet pointe shoes. I have quite a collection from when I was in ballet school plus signed pairs from many of my favourite dancers. I have gotten rid of most of my old ones but kept the pairs that were important to me like my first pair, the pair from my first Nutcracker, pairs worn to certain auditions, etc. My favourite ones are a pair signed by Maria Kowroski of the NYCB.

I collect gingerbread people! Anything with gingerbreadmen on it. This time of year I see alot of items. My kitchen is gingerbread themed.

My DH would agree, that I collect diamonds!!:rotfl: ;)

I collect gingerbread men, too. I've never thought of doing a kitchen themed with it but that would be adorable!

These last two years it's like everywhere I go they have tons of gingerbread themed Christmas stuff. I've REALLY filled out my collection :)

I collect art; I'm partial to contemporary Russian, specifically cubism. My favorite piece is an original Krasysknsky.

That is very cool! My aunt and my ex-FIL are/were both professional artists and, of course, I have a lot of the original works. Not Krasysknsky, but my aunt is very good (better than my ex-FIL.) My BFF's aunt has an original Salvaodor Dali, It's really small and she has it hanging in her bathroom. . .

Come to think of it, one of my really good friends is a graphic designer for Starbucks by day and a Marvel Comic artist by night. He is beyond talented and did the promo poster for Iron Man. . .I should hit him up for a signed copy. ;)

I collect pigs and salt & pepper shakers. It's a bonus when I get a new pig themed s&p shaker set.

Yay, another salt and pepper collector! I have a set of pigs that oink when you shake them. They're very kitchy. I love it!

Dust, I collect dust.

Ha:rotfl2: my DH would say that! he calls all 'collectibles' dustcatchers! I collect magnets or pins from places we visit, like a memory collection,oh,and photos (which =memories)

Cherished Teddies!

Antique sterling silver souvenir spoons. I've never been a collector-type person, but I inherited a few of these spoons from my grandparents - they got them as children during their travels in the early 1900s, and they're monogrammed. I never even knew we had them - they've just been sitting in a box for years. Anyway, I really love them so I started buying more from ebay. I mostly just buy spoons from places I've been. Now I've filled up a whole case with them (I think it holds 60) and they're hanging on a wall in the dining room. They look good, don't take up much space, and they'll be a great thing to pass down in the family.

Awesome thread! It's so fascinating to see what people collect.

Simple things my family collects:
Disney pins
Pooh Bears
ornaments from travel
White House Christmas ornaments
magnets

Other than that, not much of a collector, because I've inherited more collections than I know what to do with, as much as I love them!

I have a lot of old collections I don't keep up with anymore, but I currently collect Christmas ornaments from wherever I travel and Pez dispensers. I never intentionally started a Pez collection, people just gave them to me and I didn't throw them out. Then people started giving them to me because I has a "collection". Now, I've overrun the display case I bought for them. Were something over 150 and counting.
