What Do You Collect?

old books :)

:thumbsup2

I think I'm going to start collecting different Harry Potter books. Harry Potter is my favorite series so why not?
I already have them all in English and I have chamber of secrets in Italian. So I think I'll just pick up a different one for each country I visit.

I collect keychains from places i visit, kids books, Monopoly - i have about 25 games, Rudolph christmas ornaments, Harry Potter mugs, Platinum Edition Disney movies, softlips lip balm

I collect old toys, specifically classic Fisher-Price Little People toys (the ones made from the early 60's until around 1989). I have a huge collection and hope to get every set someday! :)

I also love to collect Hasbro Weebles.

Bic Round Stic pens from various places.

I have LOTS of them from all over the country. I keep them in a glass jar in our office.

Old books, frogs, annalee dolls, anything cupcake related and men. :rotfl2:

When I was in college I used to love to go to antique auctions, but I couldn't really afford much. . .so I started collecting salt and pepper shakers. I especially like the old wooden Salt and Peppeys. I haven't added to the collection in a long time but they are on two shelves in my kitchen. . collecting dust. I also have quite a few vintage Coca Cola trays.

I collect pins. Started w/embroidered patches, but it got harder and harder to find them when we went somewhere, but everyone seemed to have some sort of pin. First pins were Disney, but I have them from everywhere we've visited, even though I had to improvise in a couple of places (tie-tack, pin for a hiking staff). Last trip to WDW, I came away with pins from POP, MVMCP, Expedition Everest (first time), 2010 pin, as well as one from each of the houses of Hogwart's.

DW collects ornaments from anywhere new we visit, as well as gets a new Santa from me every year (usually tied to an event that year). She can find a Christmas store ANYWHERE we go.

I collect pigs and salt & pepper shakers. It's a bonus when I get a new pig themed s&p shaker set.

i have a huge collection of trolls. now they're all in the really big rubbermaid bins. about 4 bins full. big, little, medium...you name it!

i also collect frogs. our really big son's bathroom is bright yellow and there are frogs everywhere. i think it's my favorite room of the house.

have a bunch of disney things, but not displayed. i'm trying to work on that next.

we're NOLA hornets season ticket holders and have all the giveways from the last few years, so i want to make our downstairs powder room hornets themed.

my hubby collects stitch stuff. also every piece of paper that comes into his hands.

my son, at 2, has a collection of ride on toys. everybody thought he needed one last year. there's the normal ones, there's a rocket, koda (non-moving), inch worm and a cozy coupe. there's about 7. i guess i need to get working on more kids to fill those riding toys. LOL

otherwise thomas just collects golf clubs and balls for his indoor putting green.

Shot glasses. Buy them were every I go. Friends knows I collect them so they get them for me when they go places.

Disney Cast Member nametags and badges. I have over 500+ unique pieces.

A few examples..

You can see my complete collection at the link in my signature.

I collect Barbies. I'm most interested in the vintage Barbies when they all had the eyeliner and the sophisticated look. But I have the Disney, Star Trek, a few International ones and the ballerina ones (since I was a ballet dancer). The dancer dolls were mostly gifts. I have a lovely glass display cabinet in my bedroom filled with my Barbies.:goodvibes

I collect playbills too! I have a pretty big collection, my favorite of which is the original cast of "Into the Woods" on Broadway signed by most of the cast.

:thumbsup2 I collect gingerbread people, too! My kitchen isn't gingerbread-themed (Great idea, though!), but at Christmastime one whole section of my counter (And a glass-fronted cabinet) is devoted to the gingerbread people and houses.

WOW! I bet it is beautiful!:thumbsup2 I put alot of my gingerbread stuff away after Christmas but I do keep some of the theme going because of my kitchen!;) My kitchen is a pale yellow and has a boarder with gingerbreadmen and rolling pins on it! I have toppers above the blinds with gingerbreadmen on it. Then I have a few pcs. out. I have got alot of compliments on it!:goodvibes

I collect snowglobes. I have them from all over the world thanks to family and friends who travel. I also collect anything with the Eiffel Tower on it. I am obsessed. My bathroom even has an Eiffel tower theme.

Um...coffins. Now, before anyone thinks I mean actual coffins, no...I mean decorative stuff that's coffin-shaped:

Also a "stone" coffin jewelry box with gargoyles and Celtic knot designs on it, a coffin purse, a little metal coffin tin for "Death Mints"...

On a more "normal" note, I also collect Hurricane glasses from the Hard Rock Cafe.

bookmarks and vintage cameras.

I used to collect Barbies, newer collector ones but now they all sit in a box. I need to unload them at some point but I think we pitched the boxes in the last move so they aren't really valuable anymore.

Oh and I also have several Engel puppen dolls from the German pavilion at Epcot but sadly they aren't there anymore. His son is now at Oma's in Cape May New Jersey on occasion.

Pins- mostly Disney but have a growing Space Center, Harry Potter collection...

and my newest apparently oddest collection- Disney Gift Cards. I just hit the 200th card mark and still looking :)
