What do you carry in the parks?

We don't like to carry much - only a few small things like sunglasses, contact lense drops, small camera - but we are concerned a backpack might not be comfortable for the day

What do you bring with you to the parks to carry your stuff? Do you find it gets in the way on the rides?

Fannypacks for everyone in my family. I definitely think a backpack would get in the way. We have basic fannypacks, but you can get a lot in one.

I carry my pass and a little $, a small camera, lip Vaseline, small lotion, small brush, a Dollar Store poncho and sometimes a juice box. DH carries sunscreen, Moleskin and a poncho. The kids carry a poncho, snacks and juice boxes and, in the case of the youngest, an autograph book and pen.

We carry a mister fan and a couple of strap water bottles that we pass around among us. They do get in the way on things like Rock 'n Roller Coaster, but are too necessary to not carry.

With what you mentioned, a fanny pack will work great to hold those items.

We have three kids, so we do carry a backpack with some snacks in it along with other kids needs like tissues, autograph books, ponchos, etc. Up until this past trip, we had a stroller, so we put the backpack in the stroller. This trip, we did not use the stoller, so the backpack was a pain towards the end of the day for carrying. It did not get in the way for getting on any rides, though.

I got this little id thing at Marshall's, in it I can carry my AP, my license, credit card and some money... that is it.. of course in my pockets, I carry lipstick or lip moisturizer, and my glasses case.

Using this method, I can by-pass security as I have no large bags to go through..works for me. :D

I'm such an accessories hound :) I actually have a special purse just for WDW trips. It's the perfect small-but-not-too-small size to carry the basics (I take pretty much what you do, plus a small bottle of sunblock), and IMO looks cuter in pictures than a fanny pack. It has a long canvass strap that I wear diagonally across my chest, making it as impossible to lose as a fanny pack and much easier to get stuff out of than a backpack. Other "benefits" include not having to remove it to be comfy on rides (like backpacks) and not having to remove it to visit the "facilities" (like fanny packs).

Do you think I put too much thought into this? LOL! :p

I take a knapsack type thing, kind of like a purse but roomy enough for two ponchos, a camera and some snacks. I found the rides to be very easy to take bags on, especially at the magic kingdom. The only ride you would really have to worry about (you cant take a bag) would be rock n roller coaster at MGM. WDW is probably the most accomodating place I have seen when it comes to taking bags on rides.

I travel very light....fanny pack with the digital camera inside , and the ID carrier with a zipper , with the passes, resort ID , my ID and cc's in it. The cell phone is clipped to my belt. Nothing gets in my way. Then again we go in February and we don't need that much , we put sunblock on before we leave the hotel if it's hot.

I got a cool "healthy backpack" for Christmas from LLBean. It just goes over one shoulder, and is smaller than our old backpack but has tons of room. I am using it as a purse (for airline purposes!), and can carry all those things mentioned above - plus it has room for DH and my refillable resort mugs. We fill these with coffee for the bus ride to the parks, then I rinse them out in a bathroom, and we use them all day at the water fountains.
