What do you call this Adapter(reg. 35mm SLR)?

Sorry, didn't really know what to 'name' this thread.

Anyways,

I am currently taking an Adult Ed. Child Photography Class, which I really enjoy....this week we had our first 'shooting' for which I borrowed a camera...today I finally received my own, but I need to purchase a part for it, and I don't know the name:

Older cameras have this 'port', where you can plug in the flash, but mine is a little bit newer(still old- a Nikon FG20) and I need to purchase an 'Adapter', that goes on top of the camera, which then allows me to plug the flash into that(it's a studio setup).....
I want to look online for prices, but don't know, what I have to search for.

Anyone here able to help me?

Thank you! Managed to find it....will call my local Camera Store and ask if they have it available....not too comfortable on the phone(as English is not my native language) so I am glad to know, what I have to ask for..
