What Do You Buy When you Shop in Orlando

im happy that i got the 2x 23Kgs each with Virgin as we got in there before they stopped it :banana: i will defo be taking advantage ;)

Same here. And I will add that I firmly believe that the previous DECENT allowance is certainly worthy of a final salute from me. I really want to show the airlines that I have ALWAYS appreciated a respectable limit. :rotfl2:

We booked early November 2009 but how do we prove that when we turn up at the Orlando airport - or do they know?:confused3

Same here, although we're with Continental but we booked before they changed also :goodvibes

I normally like to buy brand stuff like Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostle, Hollister, etc. I just think the quality is usually better over there than here. My parents and I all have clothes from when we went to Florida in 2003 that are still in great condition, although I'll admit I don't wear most these days but they've certainly had their wear!

I'm planning to buy some new Ugg's this time. I already have 3 pairs :flower3: but I may as well take advantage! Although I said I'd buy new Ugg's when I went to Vegas in December 2008 and didn't because it didn't actually work out much cheaper then.

Boyfriend will most likely buy new Timberland boots. In Vegas in 2008 they had a Buy One Get One Half Price offer one so he basically got 2 pairs of Timbies for not much more than 1 pair cost here.

I want a new pair of Converse for holiday and can't quite decide whether to buy them here before I go to save time or to wait and get them cheaper over there!

I am so glad i'm not the only one that had to buy a suitcase to carry my day's purchases in! :lmao:

Shopaholics unite!!!!! :worship:

I'm with you hun! ;) At least when I get the carousel in the UK on my return to collect the bags it is obvious I have had a good trip. Once I was struggling to haul one bag after another off the carousel and a very kind gentleman offered to help me. He voiced his indignation that I was left alone to get everyone's bags ...... :rotfl2: When I explained that they were actually all mine I suspect his sympathy departed instantly, although he was too polite to let on. The only down side can be, if you are alone (my daughter also gets the same luggage allowance as me, but would never manage to push it all) those little sky carts hold a max of 2 modest sized bags. I am quite a source of entertainment struggling with 2 of them, each supporting 2 large cases. Last year to get our connection at Manchester we had to go to a different terminal. It was hilarious ....

They do know - it is in the info on your ticket. If you booked with VA or have a VA flight you can go onto "Manage your flights" and call up your booking. It shows on there under baggage allowance. If you prefer, and I did this as well, you can email VA customer services and they will confirm this in writing if you want to take printed confirmation to check in for peace of mind.

Another quick question about baggage limits. Has anyone flown recently with thomson/first choice premium class? We are entitled to 23kg of luggage, however can we still pay for an extra 5kg or would they not allow that? The more allowance the better!! :woohoo:

What a great idea for a thread! :thumbsup2

Re luggage allowance - We stay within it like this. Take the clothes we wear on the plane plus five shorts, t-shirts, undies and socks each. No more shoes or fleeces - too many to buy ;). We will have three cases and pack and weigh as we buy so we know when we are done. (Prefer only one or two days shopping max - but get a LOT done.)

Would love to buy Yankee Candless but feel their weight might be a bit much.

We do but the following though.

Me - tracksuits, hoodies, earth shoes, trainers, few character t-shirts.

DH - as much as he can spend in Bass Pro Sports!!, Ecko, G-Unit, Levis, trainers.

DD - trainers (loves them), Nike (tracksuits, t-shirts) and loads of character clothing.

All of our trainers are knackered now and I am not buying more. He will probably wear an old pair flying so we can dump over there!

Interested in the Ugg boots - where do you get those?

Oh, and this year I am getting an eternity ring for my birthday!

This will be my first time shopping in the US. I am hoping to get a few Disney souvenirs, some clothes, and will take a trip to Hot Topic to pick up Twilight goodies that I can't get over here! lol :goodvibes

Oakley Sunglasses, Oakley Sunglasses, Oakley Sunglasses, Oakley Sunglasses, Oakley Sunglasses. :cool1:
But with the exchange rate at the moment,
I hope it improves before August!!

I always stock up on:
Dooney & Bourke Disney bags

I don't know if this is any use to you but I just signed up on the Pr1me Outlets website for coupons and there's a 20% off Dooney & Bourke if your total purchase is $200 or more ;)

This time im looking out for...

Trainers
Guess Handbag
Ray Bans
Disney goodies
Pandora charms

and anything else that takes my fancy lol!

On our 2007 trip (2 weeks turned into 3 weeks due to DD getting chickenpox) we shopped til we dropped. The dollar was $2 to £1. DD was still napping in the afternoon, so we'd push her in the pushchair and shop.

We came back with our two existing large samsonite bright yellow cases, 2 new large lime green samsonite cases, 2 holdalls which had gone out with us inside the cases, a car seat and a pushchair.

Virgin allowance then was 23kg x2 each, and we had a full allowance for DD as we had bought her a seat and we still had to pay excess baggage!

And you came home and put your house on the market to purchase a bigger one? :rotfl2:

I am impressed by you all - I clearly need to try to improve my shopping skills before I go!! I have only previously been to the Florida Premium Mall (I think that's what it was called!) - where do you guys generally go to buy all your shopping?!

:rotfl2: I can picture it now!

It's the one thing I am dreading about my June trip (I am going with a friend & leaving dh at home) as he always lifts the cases. Mind you at least I won't have to put up with the constant moaning about how much i've bought, from the minute we leave the resort until we get back home. :rolleyes1 ;)

Thanks for that. I will register but I don't think they sell the Disney bags there, unless that's changed recently. :confused3

Otherwise I will have to make do with my 10% AP discount at World of Disney.

I always go to the Mall at Millenia, Florida Mall & Prime Outlets. :thumbsup2

That would mean I could buy 2 bags:rotfl2:

:lmao: That's my kind of logic too.

Hi
I have been hearing good things about OPI nail polish. Any ideas where I can get it when I am in Florida?
Thanks
Ann

My favourite places to shop are Forever 21 at Florida Mall and The Cosmetics Company Store at the Premium Outlets. I also like Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister- they're so much cheaper over there, even with the less than favourable exchange rate! I always make sure I visit that skate/surf shop in Downtown Disney as they always have random Betsey Johnson bags, which are rather expensive over here. Also, after my rampage at Juicy Couture in New York, I'm looking forward to visiting the store at the Prime Outlets. :)

A&F
Aeropostale
Nike
Timberland
Tommy H
Guess
Adidas
CK

Like Uggs next time. Not sure of the costs though...
