I know I have seen these strings before but I can't find any. I am taking my DD8 to WDW next year for the first time. We are staying at the Beach Club.

What are your must buys before you go? What do you always bring - snacks, coffee packs, etc.? What do you purchase once you get there?

I just saw the tips board, I think that was where I saw this info. I am going to move this over there.

I have seen threads on the budget board where people are packing all kinds of things to save money and I just can't live that way! I pack my clothes, my toiletries, and maybe a book. I don't even pack a camera anymore because I like photopass so much.

We don't snack at WDW. We book lunch and dinner on property because the restaurants are like attractions to us. We just aren't those people eating micky bars and turkey legs in the parks. And we aren't breakfast eaters, so we don't feel the need to pack cereal or breakfast bars.

I admire people who pack a lot of stuff, but that's just not me. I do however, shop a little, and leave room in the suitcase to bring home a t shirt or some other little thing that I find.

I haven't been much help, I know, but at least this will bump up your thread and you'll hear from the people better at this than me! :)

i bought ponchos at the dollar tree and those glow bracelets. i love glow bracelets! and they have 15 in each tube. i bought 1 pack for each day. i figure we will share with other kids. oh and hand sanitzer and a travel pack of baby wipes. but i carry those in my purse on a daily basis.

We pack clothes, toilitries, makeup, my hair stuff, shoes, socks, camera, camcorder adn that's about it. We do pack lightly so we can have enough room for the things we buy.

Once we get there (stay offsite with timeshare) we stop at Target and buy water, cereal, milk, snacks, juice, lunch meat and bread. We had to buy pampers and wipes while we were there too because I didn't want to pack any. I even bought a shirt and some cute shoes. :goodvibes

We book a meal for lunch everyday. Maybe one or two days we will do dinner at Chef Mickey or something else character. We eat breakfast at our condo before we leave. For dinner we usually go out with family that live in the Orlando area but that is off site.

I tried buying and having food delivered - never ate it. I buy wine there for the evenings I stay in - and bring a dessert back from the restaurant. I don't travel with kids so have no need for wipes and diapers. I just try to bring lots of clothes in case the weather changes, a book, my plans, toiletries and leave room for souvenirs.

Thanks for the responses. I like to pack as light as possible but wanted to make sure I won't be missing a must have later on. :)

We try not to pack too many extras beyond our clothes and personal necessities. Even though we stay on-site at POP, we still rent a car so we don't have the hassle of waiting for buses (I'm a bit of a contro-freak & DH goes with it for me!). Having the car makes a trip to the grocery store/ Target/ Walmart easy to manage so we can buy our breakfast items, water, and other last-minute things we might realize we need.

You know, reading this thread made me think about just how personal the entire 'what to pack" thing is. Like, I agree with whoever said they didn't bring food because, though I did, I would have been happier if I hadn't. But, I would be miserable relying solely on photopass for my pictures. And while I do bring changes of clothing for each family member for each day of trave and prebuy glow braceletsl, I'd never preorder groceries or rent a stroller.
It seems that, really, the best thing to do is to really understand what it is you'll wish you had and what things make you feel as comfortable as possible.

I'm a picture freak so I take pics of everything. DH is the camcorder man!!!! We just buy the straps for your neck. Our camcorder is very tiny!

Oh I definitely agree. Really this being our first real trip (I have been there for conferences, not for doing the parks) and being a Disneyland veteran I was just curious what things I may not have thought of. Ponchos for one. Moleskin...I don't even know what that is but I plan to find out. M&M containers for penny presses. Inflatable tubes...I mean seriously, you people have this down!! I have finally found a place where I am at home with my disney planning OCD.
