I am heading down to the world during F&W with some friends and we are on the Deluxe Dining plan so all the meals are paid for (except for booze and tips) so was wondering what you would take for a budget for spending. Not a huge merchandise buyer when on vacation. Anyone have any ideas?

Budget?. . .not sure I ever made a budget before. . .lol. :rotfl:

Okay, just so you know, during food and wine at Epcot they have the food booths where you can sample tasty dishes from around the world. The samples cost money so if you intend to sample food and wine bring money. I don't typically buy souveniers but ya never know when something is going to reach out and grab you. . .lol.

That's a difficult questions to answer.

I don't generally budget but often when I bring someone with me (such as my goddaughter or my cousin) I try to help them come up with a budget.

The first thing I ask is, who are you buying for?

If you are planning on bringing even "a little something" home for people, how many people and what are you planning to spend - $5 each, $10 each, $20, $50? There are few bargains at Disney - if you want to bring home something for everyone, you need to budget more money.

I'd plan at least $100 for yourself. You'd be surprised at what you'll find. And if you don't spend it, it can go for your next trip.

Remember to look at what your other out of pocket expenses might be. Tips are not included on the dxddp. On the dxddp you get two snacks per person per day so you should be pretty well covered on the food part of the festival. Are you planning on drinking alcohol? I budget $10 per drink because I like fancier drinks (grey goose slush, Peach Snap, magical star cocktail). Some are a little more, some a little less so it works out in the end. I estimate the number of drinks I can handle and then multiply things out from there.

At the end of the day, I always have my credit card ready and able. I still kick myself from a trip I took when I was 18 (many moons ago). I was in the MK with a friend and saw this silver candle holder. It was more than I wanted to spend so I want to "think about it". We never got back to that store so I didn't get it. I regret it. I really did want it but I let my cheapness stop me.

I was told if you are on the Deluxe dining plan, you can use your snack points (2 per person/per day) for the food tastings at the F&W festival. You can even partner up with a friend and you would get a least 4 different foods to try together at no extra cost. Just something to think about. I agree with the earlier poster- My husband and I will be down in October and we are budgeting about $100 per day for each of us- we'd rather be on the safe side than be worried about spending too much. Just remember, drinks and tips can add up! Have a great trip!

The drinks will add up, especially at Food and Wine. Consider around seven bucks a beer - plus how many countries? The wine samples are around five bucks I think and small, soo....just charge everything to your room and figure it out when you get home like we do!

I *budget* myself to $100 per day...and have an additional buffer of $300 just in case. Even tho things add up quickly...I've never tapped into my just in case budget. However...I am not a drinker ~ that may change things for you. But, I do buy about $100-$200 in Disney stuff for myself and friends and family back home...so maybe that would account for the drinks???

Just like OP...I saw a watch once...was being too tight to buy it on the spot...and went off to think about it and never came back for it at the end of the day (mainly hot tired and on the other side of the park and talked myself out of it)...could kick myself in the butt for it. I still wish I had that watch! Plan on buying one next year...saving aside a seperate budget for it and everything...no excuses next year!

I'm going for 6 days and here's my budget:

Tea $26
Tips $50
F&W $100
Mug $15
Drinks $60

Total of that is ~$250, but I'll take $300.

Thanks for the answers I was figuring somewhere between $60 and $100 a day should cover tips and various wines at the booths for the F&W I always tend to overbudget and end up coming back with money so thats not a bad thing i guess.

Better to over-budget than have a "surprise" at the end.

I'll probably splurge a bit more than I normally would but it's been a while since I've had a decent vacation.
