I have an old mac book, an iPad mini and an iPhone. I just got the mini so there's a learning curve there. I'd like to bring the mini, my phone and my nook for reading in the sun. Do I need the lap top? it's heavy

Personally I'd bring the nook and the Iphone and call it a day. Use the phone for any internet searches you may need and the nook for reading.

Is this for vacation? when I'm on vacay I like to "disconnect" so the least amount of techno gadgets is the way I go.

I have trouble still web browsing on my phone. I thought the iPad would come in handy for Fps

I am bringing mini and iPhone I stopped using nook after got ipad I read on it.......I am leaving my laptop as it is heavy and annoying to take through security, I do have to check email still and may have trouble fixing work if it comes back but I can do most on the ipad and will hope nothing comes back :)

I have the larger iPad. I typically take my 10" iPad and my iPhone on vacation. Sometimes I take a laptop. It just depends. Are you driving or flying?

I will be bringing my iphone and my Nook HD for reading.

I wouldn't bring all three, and definitely not the laptop. That would be too much for me to keep track of.

flying

I'm just learning to use the mini, I've got a book and I'm doing a few chapters a night. i can do the basics so should be fine by August.

We bring our phones (necessary) kindles (also IMO necessary for the loooong cross country flight) and our iPad Air because we watch movies together on it. We've tried to do it with our phones but its just too small... the iPad usually doubles as photo storage as well (we have an SD card adapter for it) and hangs out in the safe otherwise while we are at our destination.

Leave the MacBook at home! I have an iPad (not the mini...too small for me) and it will do everything you need to do on vacation. Web browsing, scheduling FP+, ADR changes, etc. If you're certain you'll do reading on your trip aside from the plane, bring your Nook also...if you are only going to use it on the plane, I would leave it at home. It's just one more thing to carry and potentially lose. I just play games and watch movies on my iPad during the plane ride (7 1/2hr flight which includes a 1hr layover).

I would say you can do everything on your iPhone but I think the battery life sucks and everyone I know with one tends to charge it mid-day. I have a Motorola Maxx which has a 48hr battery life (and larger screen, which is why I find iPad Mini screens too small).

So...I vote for iPhone, iPad Mini, and Nook only if you will use it during your vacation.

I bring my laptop only because I download my photos to it on a daily basis. Keep in mind, I take probably close to 1,000 photos a day, with a 24 mexapixel camera. So, I need the extra storage space of my laptop to download the photos.

Dd will bring her iPad mini for the plane ride. The rest of us will have our iPhones.

I may bring the lap top to download pics from my camera during vacation.
