What do you bring with you in the parks?

We will be arriving in DL on Tuesday!! :cool1: This year, we are not planning on using a stroller. When we had the stroller we basically brought everything except the kitchen sink with us since we had the stroller to keep it. This time, I only want to bring a smallish backpack. This is what I plan on bringing...

My wallet
cell phone (which I use as my camera)
gum
meds (for adults and kids)
small bottle of hand sanitizer
small pack of wet wipes
small pack of kleenex
sunglasses
Frog Togs
a couple of empty baggies
Bandaides/mole skin

Can you think of anything else I should put in the bag?

What's a frog togg?
To save room you could leave the medicine and bandaids out. Those items you could get at the first aid for free in the rare case you might need them. The only thing I would add is an emergency snack in case anyone gets hangry while waiting in line. We pack granola bars since they transport easily. Also bring a bottle of water.

Our most important thing to bring is a water bottle. We have the kind with a filter so it can be filled with any water and not taste bad. I know you can get cups of free water but that doesn't help if you are standing in a long hot line and need a drink.

We don't bring much, but it's all indispensable to us.

Wallet, phone and sunglasses of course
Frozen bottle of water & a few line snacks
Sunscreen stick & chapstick
Phone charger - pics (especially if you send any) really eats up the battery
Very small first aid kit with assorted size band aids, neosporine and tylenol

I am pretty minimalist about what I carry around, but we normally rent a locker as well.

I have a small Kasey LeSportsac purse and I normally have my wallet, my camera (tiny point and shoot), sometimes my phone (didn't carry it around last time, left it in the locker), my small pill case with ibuprofen and Tums in there, and our tickets.

That way, I don't have to take the purse off (its cross-body) if I don't want to on most rides.

From one fair skinned person to another, I would recommend some sort of visor. My kids were embarrassed to be seen with me but a baseball was too hot. I used it all day b/c I found it very sunny when we were there. And, I think that someone mentioned it but chapstick as well. Have fun!!!

wow that's pretty cool! It actually works?

Frog Toggs are awesome. DH, the kids, my in-laws, and I all have them and use them when we go to DLR each October.

I'd second the suggestion to bring something to recharge your phone. (Last time, our group got split up (FIL took DS to the restroom), we miscommunicated about where to meet up, and then FIL's phone ran out of charge so we couldn't reach him, and vice versa. He ended up having to go back to his room at GCH just to call us from the room phone!) Here's the power bank I carry: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008PQAFTM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oh, and I also bring rain ponchos (the kind they sell at DL) in case we're riding Splash or GRR very early in the morning or late at night and don't want to be soaked--plus a couple of plastic garbage bags to put the wet ponchos in once they're used.

I bring a cross body bag and carry:

Water
Nuts
Advil
My ID, credit card and tickets (I ditch the wallet and just bring the essentials)
Camera
Chapstick
If it's hot a small Coleman portable fan and if it's rainy a poncho.

We usually bring water bottles, lip balm, and snacks, a camera, and our cell phones. That's about it. One of the reasons I love staying on property is having to bring less into the parks. We generally leave sweatshirts, phone chargers, sunscreen, etc in the villa/hotel. If the weather looks iffy, I'll bring a poncho.

We bring many of the same things like sun screen, hats, naproxin, small wallet, etc. We also do something with our daughter once we left the stroller behind when she was near 5 (she is now 8). We have a small Disney back back that has a large pocket area that can also hold her water bottle we have termed the "Snack Pack". Every morning (and sometimes afternoons if we take a break) we fill it with snacks that she is allowed to graze on anytime she wishes no permission needed. This ensures she always has water and snacks when she gets hungry/thirsty no matter where we are. We fill it with things like crackers, homemade cookies, trail bars, fruit bars, nuts, whole fruit, fruit leather, individual peanut butter packets, cut carrots and celery, jerky, nuts, trail mix, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches among other things. Like many children, She eats meals but often not much and ends up grazing more than anything. ( I cannot count how many meals we have had and she is hungry an hour later). This is especially true when days are spent at the parks. She also likes the idea of being able to eat her snacks without having to ask. We ensure that it is not overly heavy, so it does not tire her and have had great success with it. In fact, we never hear that she is hungry when we visit. She still will occasionally ask for park snacks that we indulge now and then. The only complaint we get now is being tired. :)

When we first took this path, we were afraid that it was asking a bit much. But the pack is small and she got used to it. These days she likes to add her camera, sun block stick, and small souvenirs. I am sorry as I know you did not ask but this is what we did when we started doing without the stroller and found it worked wonderfully for her.

we have the endure towels from lowes, well we have the ones that slip over our heads, necks and have 13 ways to wear it. they worked while we moved during the 110 + temps in Arizona this summer. I don't know bout the frog towels but i bet they work much like ours im definitely bringing mine to dl this nov just to be safe if we have hot days.

Backup battery for cell phone and zip lock bag for everybodies cell phone for splash mountain. Sunscreen and a hat as well as motion sickness pills. Wallet with cc and around 50 bucks in cash. And breath mints for after I eat some pomme frites at cafe Orleans.

I move in lol! :lmao:
I bring a backpack with cameras, trip mascot, plasters, medicine, warmer tops/leggings for night time, purse, pins, vinyls, phone, poncho and random other bits like vaseline for lips etc.

We still use a stroller and I am dreading the day we don't have it because we load it with so much! LOL.

But here is what I take when I am without the kids:

Camera
sunscreen
wallet
phone
band aids
hair brush
protein bars
ibuprofen

with kids I add:
children's Tylenol
extra sunscreen
a small pair of scissors (I use to cut their straws down to a size that fits their cup so they don't spill at the restaurants)
extra snacks
and some stickers/crayons for when we eat to keep them occupied

And Frogg toggs are AMAZING! We used them in July and they were a life saver =)

I second the suggestion for a hat as well. I am fair and got totally burned on my face our first day. I ended up buying a hat at the parks and it was so nice to have! I am not usually a hat person, especially at the parks because I thought it would be a pain on the attractions....It wasn't. So easy.

Have a great trip!!:goodvibes

Small snacks for the kids
Sliced fruit or Home made trail mix
A Camera
Asprin
Hair brush
Gum

I really don't count my Purse and wallet.
