I have reservations at the Swan (149.00/night)from May 23 with a check out on May 26th when we move to BWV. Would you add a day at the Swan due to the 26th falling on a Saturday. This is my first trip as a DVC member and I'm trying to find out best strategies from the vets! Thank-you.
ETA-This would save me 72 pts.

I think it really is a personal decision...I for one hate to use the points on a weekend night. Some people buy in with the intent of staying a week and don't look at the per night requirements but rather the weekly ones. I think that is a great way of looking at it (and keeps you from moving so much), but I haven't trained myself to do that yet.

Thanks, for your input. I'm having an internal debate but neither side is winning! :) The easiest thing I guess is to leave my ressies as they stand but I'm not sure:>)

Since you are staying there anyway, I would extend it by one night to save points.

I agree - you have to move, anyway. Might as well save the points for the next trip (or use them to extend the stay at the BWV).

Thanks,I'm going to call and see if the Swan still has availibility.
Another ? These are 2007 pts, will I have through 2008 to use them,or do I have to use them this year? Thanks again.

When is your use year? If, for instance, you have a March use year, then you need to use the 2007 points by February 28, 2008 or bank whatever you haven't used. Does that make any sense?

Thanks for the info,I called MS and cancelled the Saturday stay.
Tiggercrew, I asked MS and I have until Oct 2008 to use my banked pts.
I really appreciate the input that I received today. Thanks again! :)

How many people in the room? If you are comfortable in a standard hotel room, then I would stay another night at the Swan. If you will be crammed in there, then it might be worth the points. Even so, at 72 points (ouch!) I might be tempted to get TWO rooms at the swan and save the points....but then I am a points scrooge! :rotfl2:

With our family of 5, there is no way will do a regular room even for one night anymore (and our 3 kids are still little!).
