Well, the cruise has been booked since last August, paid for, our coutdown clock has been running, and we still have 5 months to go.

Seems like a lot of people know their excursion choices, dining rotation, on board activities so far in advance. We have been watching air fare, talking about excursions, but haven't made any decisions. I feel a bit unprepared and overwhelmed!!

Is there anything we should be doing?

Information is your best guide to a great cruise. By visiting these boards you are priviledged to know SO MUCH more than the averqage cruiser. Your excursion documents will arrive about 60 days out. You can make those decisions then. You know now when to arrive at the port, and know how you should proceed once you are aboard. This will be such a great experience for you. For now, I'd say that your job should just be having fun reading and getting to know the folks here on this board. Have you found your cruise on the "cruise meets" board, found just above the regular cruise forum? It is fun to chat with the folks who will "all be in the same boat" as my DH is fond of harrassing me with. Relax and enjoy the anticipation.

Hi Karen :wave2:

We have our airfare, and I do have some excursions in mind, but we haven't decided anything definite yet. I WISH there was a way we could find out our dining rotations before we cruise, but that isn't possible. As for onboard activities, I just printed out ALL of the western itinerary Navigators from Barb's web site and have been looking them over. It gives me a basic idea of what goes on, on the ship, each day. Of course they are bound to change at least somewhat by the time we cruise, but they're fun to read through during this long, cold winter. LOL I did do something the other day though, I booked us into a lagoon view room at the Polynesian for our stay after the cruise! I'm now researching the resort and have decided which longhouse (building) to request, for the best view. I really wish we were staying longer at Disney World, but it'll only be for a day and a half. Boo hoo. LOL I can't complain, afterall, I am going on the Disney Magic, staying in a verandah cabin, then staying at one of the best resorts on Disney property! And best of all, I'll have my DSs and DH with me :sunny:

As for airfare, are you watching and waiting for a certain fare?? Since we're returning on Labor Day weekend, I wanted to book early so we could get the flight time that we wanted. If it wasn't for being a holiday weekend, I probably would've waited.

As far as deciding for sure which excursions and other activities, I figure that things can change a lot between now and the summer when we cruise, so I've just been reading the boards and taking it all in, and will make final decisions when it's MUCH closer to our cruise date :)

In the meantime, it is fun to keep researching and daydreaming :sunny:

Hi Seaspray

We are watching to see if the fares go down. They have been at the same rate since we booked last August. There is a flight that has the perfect times. The rates aren't too bad. We have just gotten them before at a lower rate.

I just looked at the new Navigator that was posted on a different site. WOW.....looks like it will be a blast. The Stack looks great......I want to do some of the teen stuff too!!!!!!

Only 5 more months!!

Which airport will you be flying out of? SIL flew out of Allentown on Southeast last summer. They often have low fares. I'm still waiting to see what happens when Southwest starts flying out of Phila. Hopefully, that will lower rates all over Eastern Pennsylvania!

plutospup...we will be flying out of Harrisburg. It is such an easy drive for us. Many times my mom will take us and pick us up. If she doesn't the parking is incredibly inexpensive....something like $3/day!!!!

We have never flown out of Allentown since it is at least a 2 hour drive. We have flown out of Newark (to Salt Lake City) and Baltimore to Orlando. We just really hate the drive home from those airports.

The going rate is $223 from Harrisburg.......just about ready to book!!!!

Hbg certainly is easy for you! I know what you mean about those long rides home from the airport. We're really spoiled since we started flying out of Williamsport. 20min and we're home!
Our next flight is out of MDT, since Williamsport is prone to winter weather delays. Our fare is $267. Thats about $67 more than what I wanted to pay, however, I was able to use FF miles for one ticket.

i was watching the airfares for awhile and when it went to 200.50 per person on us air out of phila. i took it. so we're set in that dept.

Hey tigger...looks like we will just miss you! We will be at PO Riverside after the cruise.

DCL July 3-10
POR July 10-14

karen b hope you have a great cruise and enjoy por, we love it there. too bad we miss eachother at both the cruise and riverside:)

We got $200 out of Philly. I booked it last August I think. The same flight is up to around $300 now.

I'm still thinking it might have been a mistatke because I've heard that Southwest has wonderful rates.

Oh well. Nothing to do about it now!

I still have no clue what excursions we're going to do.
